        • Thanks, I skimmed over it. Did anyone actually get the deal in the end?

          • +1

@bleeder: Only a few people I believe. Some had luck by changing their delivery address multiple times. One bloke posted an image showing he got three delivered.

          • +1

@bleeder: People were getting it by contacting support and getting a guy called Muzeeb to confirm their order/dispatch.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Muzeeb The Wise?

I thought not. It's not a story the mods would tell you. It's an OzBargain legend.

Darth Muzeeb was a Dark Lord of Dell Support, so powerful and so wise he could use the customer chat to expedite orders… He had such a knowledge of customer service that he could even keep the orders he cared about from cancellation.

The dark side of price errors is a pathway to many bargains some consider to be unnatural.

He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his job, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught management everything he knew, then his boss killed his contract in his sleep.

Ironic. He could save others hundreds of dollars, but not himself.

    • Haha this is great

Lol I know someone else who did something similar, essentially a casual worker using Myer's Friends and Family rates for a lot of friends specifically in the TV and audio section.

They were killing it in sales each month for three years until one day the new management did an audit and from what I heard told them to either quit or they would be terminated. Most of the experienced staff were let go for cheaper labour.

The rep later went on to work for Apple but it is unfortunate though as that particular Myer store's electronics section has all but disappeared now.

On the other hand, if you have friend's at JB Hi-Fi they are pretty good at hooking up discount deals.

Show some love on oled too plz

People here think they grabbed a bargain but in reality they bought a faulty returned unit which got patched up. I have seen so many horror stories about Dell and their refurbished units.

    • +2

Well, it's just a buyer beware situation. Dell refurbished are usually returned units but it may not necessarily because it was faulty. Sometimes it's just luck of the draw. I see it as used or as new items with full Dell warranty. If there is anything wrong with the item, just deal with it via warranty.

Cheaping out on expensive monitors isn't the way to go. With the price spent buying refurbished, people can just go buy a new one of similar quality elsewhere.

    • Bought the Refurb OLED 34 inch model about 4 months ago and its perfect. Also has 5 year door to door warranty.

      • -1

Please keep it up and ensure everything you buy is refurbished from now on and come back and report it to us now on how it goes.

  • +5

ordered one in a rush thinking it's an OLED. I'm going to cancel it now

    • Hate when that happens get so excited and premature purchase
