Asus EEE PC 901 - Atom, Wireless N, SSD - $479

62

Seems to be the best price online for the 901 right now, $479 + delivery charges.

I personally find the netbook battle to be a three way between this, the Aspire One and the MSI Wind. The 901 edges past the Aspire because of the 6 Cell battery.

Either way, sharing, hopefully the first of many.

  • This is a good price. however I don't want to wait till 2009 for delivery!

  • lol, i can sense the flames may begin soon since dailydeals is the daddy of Catch of the Day.

  • the wind is 6cell and 10inch and 120gig hd. BUT cost $650 in perth ><

this is a very good deal :)

    • I have both the MSI wind and 901, I would pay more for the wind any day, the keyboard on the 901 is like typing on a mobile. (tooooo small)

  • I impulsively got the acer aspire one several months back when it was just released.. I have to say it's a great netbook. With a few tweaks here and there, it's a really neat treat. The keyboard is very practical unlike the EeePC, it looks a lot better as well (just my opinion).. and if you can wait a couple of months, we'll be getting the 6cell battery which is claimed to be able to lasts 6-7 hours!

    • "we’ll be getting the 6cell battery"

Who is "we" ??? Are you an Acer rep?? Pls explain.

And if you are an Acer rep - let me educate you on your own product:

      Aspire One: Wireless ABG

      EEE PC 901 / 1000H: Wireless N

      Aspire One: No Bluetooth

      EEE PC 901 / 1000H: Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR

      Aspire One: 3 Cell Batt

      EEE PC 901 / 1000H: 6 Cell Battery

      Aspire One: AU Warranty

      EEE PC 901 / 1000H: International Warranty

      Aspire One: Office Trial

EEE PC 901 / 1000H: Star Office Full Included

And if you're gonna bag on the keyboard - how about I bag on the mouse which has buttons to the left and right of the pad… real smart…

The only thing people might like about it is the glossy screen - good for movies / colour but bad for daylight use.

  • WHY Wait for such a long time….you can buy for $509 here http://www.anypc.com.au....and they have stock now! If you are in NSW, you can pick them up and saved shipping!

  • dailydeals and catchoftheday is the same company.

Please be aware that this company is well known for their bad customer service, long shipping time and clear text credit card details:

    • Agreed, bad company to deal with!

  • My 901 summary: 6 hour browsing (9 idling), 1100g, bluetooth, wifi N, multi touchpad (like apple) and mod friendly with easy access to ram, ssd, wifi upgrade. Tons of aftermarket parts available: touchscreen, big batteries, cases etc. SSD and atom = quiet as a calculator and cool as a cucumber … literally.

That said, the 1000h/Wind is better for first entry to netbook/umpc. The 901 is better for those upgrading or advanced umpc mobs.

  • Wouldn't touch dailydeals with a ten foot pole. Don't care how good their deals are.
