  • Thanks for this, was literally looking at getting one of these a few days ago, add to the Onepass deal, perfect timing.

Given the price of barrels, these will sell well in SA

jv needs a lot to store all their comments

      • +4

Is it because @jv comments are rubbish?

        • +7

          comments are rubbish?

          or just recycled

          • +2

@jv: To recycle something it had to be useful in the first place

To recycle something it had to be useful in the first place

              Not necessarily…

Lots of councils offer a second garden waste bin for free.

    • +3

Council will also replace your bin for free if you send photographic proof that it has broken or cracked.

      • +1

Great thanks! How do I draw a crack in Photoshop?

        • They take the cracked one back.

        • +6

Make sure your Photoshop is legitimate, can't draw cracks in a cracked copy

        • +4

          Call a plumber.

      • Tell them someone stole it after bin day

      • Ha! Mine doesn't. Even if the garbo breaks the lid off from not placing it down gently upright, we still get pinged by the council to buy a new one.

    • i dont even get one - have to throw my greeens with the red

    • +1

My council doesn't. We have to pay extra for our 2nd green one.

  • +3

Where can I get a "Handy 100L Wheelie Bin (Available in 4 Colours)" without the "100L Wheelie Bin (Available in 4 Colours)"?

    • 😅🤣

    • +1

      Pretty widely available for $50.

  • +3

Will the council truck empty this if i put extra bin on the kerb?

    • Curious to know, as missing a run is painful in terms of build-up

      • +1

Thats when you just ring up the council and tell them they missed your bin, they'll send someone back the next day to collect it.

Yeah I usually have morals, but not when it comes to councils.

    • +1

I would be incredibly surprised if they did. You pay for waste disposal and bins in your rates bills, so they'll only collect what they're paid for. Given this is visually not an official council-issued bin they'll probably just skip it.

      • +1

I don't mind if they throw it in the skip bin…

    • +1

      Most likely not.

But give it a try and let us know! 👍🏻

    • my council has changed to bins with different coloured lids and green body, so it would look odd and the driver wouldn’t know if recycle green or general waste ….

    • I've tried it before, in Bundaberg Council and in Brisbane City Council. They just skip it.

    • Some will and will then up the rates due to it, others won't.

      • Put it on neighbours side. Problem solved

        • Basically the same as a midnight rubbish dump when you look through all your nearby bins for bag space.

    • Depends on your council & garbo.

Some councils have microchipped your bin.
Some garbos like to be strict about the rules. But unless they're microchipped they don't know how many bins you're entitled to have

In Melbourne we had 3 general waste bins, often put out two, occasionally all three. But we went out of our way to be friendly to them (i.e. took the time to chat & ask them how their day was going).

On the goldie, if we have 2 loads, we fill up, when empty, fill it again and put it across the road to empty again.

    • Interested to that too

    • +1

No. Driver will stop and put a sticker on warning you off if you have more then one bin out.

    Anniversary gift sorted?

  • this would be great for those outdoor toys and other stuff that if just left outside get sun damage. i’d get the 240 but doubt fits into my small sedan bit the 120 should fit.

    • Bunnings should give you free trailer hire to get the big one home.

  • Thanks Op, got one

  • My neighbors has 3 of these, collects bottles in them then takes them to Woolies in a ute, handy if you have a use for them, so good price!

    • What does Woolies want bottles for? I take all my bottles to the redemption depot to get the cash back.

      • No idea, they have recycle machines outside and give you a voucher to spend in Woolies. Smart, they make sure you use the 'cash' in their store, which for most people is a necessity sadly.

      • Could be their Woolies runs a program or hosts a return & earn station.
Mine has a set of machines just down the parking lot.

      This deal is wicket

      • +1

        Mate that pun was trash…

        • +1

          That's a garbage response

  • +1

perfect, just in time for the body in backyard

  • Isn't the council supposed to give you one for free?

    • +1

Cmon you know this is one you buy yourself as an extra that the council won’t collect. Just think.

  • Trash deal, thanks OP 👍

These are better than a trolley if you want to nick stuff. Just don't take it into the tools section cause that's a bit suss.

  • who is this for, people with personal dump trucks?
