Great price. And yes PS5 compatible if you grab a heatsink

    • Without heat sink would it work?

      • +1

        In the ps5? Not recommended.

Without heatsink in a computer? Sure. May still get a bit hot though, or can use a motherboard heatsink that's built in.

        • Do all SSDs need heat sink in PS5.

          • @TimApple: I have one without a heatsink in my ps5 and it's been fine for the last 6 months but ymmv

        • The heatsink for PC thing needs to die

IF it's UNDER ur GPU sure..ok

If it's in like slot 2..with some air,99.99 percent of ppl likely to never exceed 65c on the NAND which is no where near it's tolerated specs

      • If you leave the M.2 slot exposed, then it doesn’t technically need a heatsink. Better off getting a heatsink though.

  • Solid drive :)

    • +4

      you mean solid state drive

  • +1

    Good boot drive?

      • Can you recommend a 3/3…. preferably for a similar price?

        • +3

This drive has dram. Unless they made a new version.

        • +1

"Can you recommend a 3/3…. preferably for a similar price?" at the monent nothing comes close to this in price… there are always sales that pop up for faster drives like the WD SN850X and Samsung 990 Pro

      • +4

It has DDR4 - Dram chips .. no idea where you get your info from? please use google before shooting off misinformation.
        https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/kingston-kc3000-m2-ssd-…

"The controller interfaces with a DDR4 DRAM cache provided by a Kingston-branded chip that operates 1,600 MHz. Also, interfacing are thirty-two dies of Micron’s 512Gb 176L TLC flash, operating at full speed, 1,600 MTps."

        I said it was a solid drive… :) beats a 980 Pro

    • VERY Good.. its faster then a Samsung 980 Pro

  • +2

excellent speeds has dram, reasonable pricing, good warranty

  • When are the GPU deals happening?

    • +2

Never, gpus are pretty much a monopoly in comparison. Nvidia can't even make enough to fulfil orders for AI cards.

      • +1

I'd be more than happy with 7900 xtx deals. Don't really care much about Nvidia.

        • -2

here's a sad thought…. Nvidia makes more 4060s than the entire AMD lineup top to bottom

also Nvidia is a trillion dollar company… we will never see cheap gpus ever again

          • +1

@tonyjzx: I am not doubting the Green team's market share. If I get a better 4080 deal, I'll snag that up. But it is more likely to see a Red team deal than the other way around. That's what I meant.

            • @kron: same

If for BF it hits 1600 for a 4080 it's prob the best we will do for a while..will snag one

    • Even the 4090 prices are going up. So good luck with that.

      • the hodl isn't working…

        • It would have, but blame the AI.

    $15 postage is a stinger

    • $20 to WA

    • Would Amazon price match?

      • You would have to send a message to the seller for that

    • Yeah, it's min. $94 delivered. No pick up option.

  • +1

I have the 2tb. amazing cards.

  • How do i tell if this will fit in my pc?

  • +3

It feels like pc component deals have been drying up lately.

    • +3

Wait until china tanks :) or we go into a global recession.. prices will drop for anything you cant eat or drink.. Toilet paper will skyrocket

      • ahh it would be the other way actually.

With chinese production shitting the bed, cost of other goods will go UP as their is no market competitors

  • new to nvme, any1 know of cheap and good heatsinks for these puppies pls?

  • great drive, run mine as system disk and speed is as good as you'll get with gen4
Runs nice and cool with motherboard heatsink

  • -1

Meh might be good for an external drive

  • +1

Kingston is an underrated company.. all their stuff has been so reliable for me over the years

  • Very good ssd for boot drive.

  • no click and collect?

  • This is about the BEST

1tb NVME drive on the market for this price

    This rivals a 980Pro.

AMAZING quality customer service too..i returned a 1tb that had a burned out controller, they sent back a 2TB version and like 2 packets of 32 GB usb as an apology

Can ppl stop asking if they need a heatsink for NVME

Unless you are doing 24/7 read writes to it..you wont max it out..

9/10 the average person is playing games that will use barely 570 Mbit

i hear pccg has changed management during covid and has gone down the drain since?

    • +1

Yep, used to happily pay their price premium for excellent customer service and support.

Since Covid, you can't even call them anymore, and their email support is rude and unhelpful.

I had two slam dunk warranties thrown back in my face, one for a dodgy motherboard and the other for a Corsair PSU that was WELL within warranty - had to go to Corsair themselves (who were more than helpful). Both times they refused to cover the shipping costs as well.

Walked away after spending $20K+ with them easily… Well done PCCG you really shit the bed on an excellent business model, and I doubt I am alone in my experience here.

      • yup similar experience lately here, though some get lucky with things actually shipping quickly

  • +1

Ha, got one last week to install Mint LDME. I have been test running Mint Cinnamon for the last 3 months in dual boot and hadn't been back to Windows once so here we are. (Decided on LDME as Cinnamon is twice removed from Debian via Ubuntu)

Only been in 2 days and is working fine but not everything is up and running. I expect Davinci Resolve to give me endless headaches :)

  • +4

I hope to god Amazon AU price matches. $15 delivery wtf.

  • PCCG just moved and have undefined delays on shipping. So RIP if you order and want it within 2 weeks. Also no click and collect.

  • To still have the bargain, one can buy with a group of friends and share the delivery fee.
