  • better than ikeas 365 stainless steel pan?

    • -1

I say nope :) Very hard to beat that, $15 for the 24cm version.

Isn't it funny how Tefal now shy away from the word "Teflon"? :-)
Their "mesh" design may last a bit longer when abused, but it compromises the non-stick property they are trying to preserve.
I treat my Ikea 365 roughly, and still get a year or two out of it. Meanwhile, another pan is reserved exclusively for eggs, and lasts indefinately.

    • You are right this tefal pan always 50% discount.

  • $160 for a Chinese stainless steel pan feels particularly egregious…

You have manufacturer warranty for 10 years

Tremendous usage of the underutilized but wonderfully descriptive word “ egregious”…

I feel ever so slightly smarter for having read it!

  • Scam alert!!
    This frypan is not eternal.

I believe this was supposed to be their version of hexclad, I have purchased this before, I really wouldn't recommend it.

Food sticks in the crevices, incredibly hard to clean. Doesn't provide non-stick level of non stick but also doesn't provide high heat transfer as steel.

Can't use barkeepers to clean oils stains inside the pan due to non stick coating.

Stay with either non-stick or stainless steel.

Or for an even better blend of the best characteristics of both (and sometimes the cost of both as well) try SolidTeknics wrought iron…

      • appeal of stainless and non stick pans is that they handle acid things better than steel , also the dishwasher safe appeals.

        • Thanks for the slap happy neg. Maybe next time take a look at the SolidTeknics Noni wrought stainless range if acidic or wet dishes are your main use case.

I have it and I don’t like it. It sticks like a stainless steel pan and doesn’t handle very high temperatures like a non stick pan. Cleaning is a nightmare and will discolor as it’s very hard to clean between the patterns

  • Our of interest, what’s your association with Myer, bibekl?

    • +1

      I am a contractor.

      • -3

Fair enough, but that’s a pretty broad catchment. Do you maintain their plumbing or sell them cooking supplies? Give us a hint…

        • +4

          Egregiously broad.

        • Well you can never guess 😅

          • @bibekl: Fair enough - it was only idle curiosity. Hope you weren't one of the ones I offended with the enquiry…
