  • Does Sony price match a coupon price. Most stores generally don't, so wondering how people have been successful in price matching these TVs with Sony.

      Yes I did it yesterday with JBHIFI deal for the A95K - then signed up to Sony you get a 10% extra off emailed to you - then cashrewards brought it to an extra 9%. Final price 2544 delivered.

              • @Dajaba: Its one thing to track as that just means its confirmed you clicked and purchased. Does not mean you are eligible for cashback, that comes later

                            • @Dajaba: It's all a bit strange. Mine was despatched with "DHL supply chain" today with a due date of today. That was not likely as the TV left Sydney and I'm in Melbourne. I called to ask for an ETA, they didn't know. They said someone would call to arrange a delivery day.

                                • @Dajaba: No updates. Although given my TV was "despatched" today, I'd expect an update Tues/Wed.

                          • @settings: Finally got a call from DHL, to be delivered today (Wed, 1 Nov).

                            • @settings: Yeh, they're pretty unprofessional at DHL Supply Chain. I got a call at 6pm Tuesday saying it's coming tomorrow. I told them I wouldn't be home and requested Thursday. I got a call back 30mins later to confirm the booking. Then I got another call at 7pm from a different DHL Supply Chain person asking me when I'd like my delivery. So who knows where/when my TV will end up. All along, the ETA on their website was actually the same time as it was dispatched, so the tracking never actually worked.

                              Normal DHL are excellent. This Supply Chain arm not so.

                              • @sinners007: Agreed, have had good experience with DHL. This…not so much. Just for posterity: my estimated delivery was to be midday Monday, 30th. Received a text message and email on Monday night saying that my TV has 'coming today'. Which was odd, since they don't do night deliveries.

                                Called them yesterday and support staff was just as confused, saying that the TV must still be on a line haul on the way to SA (from NSW). So when you and @Dajaba received a call, I was not confident that it'll arrive. Tracking website mentioned bugger all except that it was picked up.

                                And as mentioned in a comment above, they called me to arrange for a delivery today.

                                Anyway, when delivery guy showed up, I noticed that there were scruff marks and the box had minor (surface) damage. Reading horror stories does not bode confidence. Fingers crossed the panel is fine.

                                Hope both of your deliveries and TVs have no dramas.

                      • @peekamoo: I called Sony back yesterday, citing the price match form I had filled in on their website. They still wouldn't help. I then left my phone in the live chat queue and 3hrs later, I got through & requested the price match with HN. The operator took 20mins to do what should have taken 2mins - it's no wonder it took 3hrs to move up 30 spots in the queue.

                        Anyway, I was finally able to put the order through for $2,797. Lucky as the TV price jumped back up today. I also got $229 on cashrewards but, the jury is out on whether that will come through given the 10% off voucher I used. Thanks peekamoo & Dajaba for your advice.

    • I wish they had the 75" available

      • They did recently, $2600 delivered using sign up code. Pretty good for a high end 75" tv like the x95k. Its not perfect, its got some annoying blooming (still better than other brands generally) but overall a good tv for the price.

        Still thinking a 65" A95k for the same price would of been the better choice.

    • Wow. That is a great price. Got $2000 in gift cards to use for JB/Good Guys. Need to price match, Only problem is that I need to move soon and not sure if the TV will be too large for the new lounge. Arghh.

      I did the same and just got an email saying my request was rejected because it fell under one of their exclusions in theirt&c's. They didn't stipulate which exclusion though.

        For sony price match you need to submit the price match request and go to chat just after.
        Done for a camera and a camera lens as well

                @Dajaba: Just got the price match that was submitted the day before yesterday, final price 2797, Cash rewards just gave me $50 back but it is still a steal in my opinion. :)
