Motionflow XR 100Hz with 50Hz Refresh Rate — what is this marketing language is it 50Hz or 100Hz?

was about to ask the same thing, sounds dodgy to me.

    • 60Hz is the max refresh rate on all resolutions according to Sony and RTings:

      50hz is the panel.

"motionflow xr" Sony's own algorithm/way of processing the video to make it run/appear 100hz, usually by adding/blending frames.

All brands do this, they all have their own names/algorithms.

(Simpified) Its usually, if at all:
      50hz > 100hz (low end)
      60hz > 100/120hz (low - mid)
      100hz > 200hz (mid-high)
      (high - premium)
      120hz
      144hz
200hz (I think I saw one of these)

It's Sony entry level tv. From the reviews it's OK but worth investing in higher models.

    • Do you think X80L for an extra $400 is worth it?

agree. IPS monitor is ok but avoid IPS TV
      TV content is different
