No PS5 patch, still 30 fps locked.

Is the 60fps patch that rockstar released not available over wifi when you insert the PS4 version into a PS5 console? I thought when you put the PS4 version into a PS5 it applied the update to make it backward compatible or am I wrong?

I’d be ok with 30fps if they just improved the resolution.

The PS4 version is almost unplayable compared to Xbox and PC. The upscaling is so low res and blurry it’s painful.

    • that's terrible. thanks for heads up. almost pulled the trigger thinking 30fps is so 2020

  • my DDR5 6700XT couldn't handle this old game lol. can't do max setting, maybe mid-high only.

    • +3

my RX 6700 handles it fine (90+ fps).. use HUB settings like most others :)

      • ah i see that he got FXAA and MSAA turned off, i have them turned on. no idea what they do anyway lol. thanks for the heads up

Don't just try and max out all the settings. Tweak them to your system. The HUB settings video the other comment linked is a good starting spot. I used that for a base line then changed a few things to my liking. From memory I turned some water settings down as I could hardly notice a difference and there was a nice FPS boost in doing so, but I turned lighting effects up so towns and cities at night looked stunning but I did take a performance hit in doing so which IMO was worth it. For the record I played through the game on a 5700XT, 32GB DDR4, Ryzen 5600 system at a resolution of 3440x1440 quite smoothly once I had the settings tweaked.

I got the updated one, it's got a Metalic version of the image at the front. So you can tell which one it is(if you go to a store)

    • What did they update?

      • -2

basically, on the new one(it still says ps4), you can download an update that makes it have 60fps instead of 30fps

        • +2

          That's RDR1.

And it doesn't matter what case you get, the patch is available immediately.

    • Are you mixing up RDR1 with this? I think only RDR1 has the metallic cover, I could be wrong though.

    • I got a "
      Change your Store region
The region where your payment option is issued must match your Store region. Learn more"

Do I need to purchase more points? Alternate way of paying?

      • The virtual card provider most OZBers were using no longer works (Turkey government disallowing anonymous card holders to make purchases on these US company based subscriptions or digital purchases). I will remove the comment since currently we cannot buy from Microsoft Turkey store (a small number of OZBers still can, but I think their virtual card will be changed soon).

People selling Microsoft Turkey store gift cards are taking advantage of the situation. They are costing 4.5 times the actual card worth.

  • amazing game i finished this on ps5 and PC enjoyed it more on PC though at 80 to 90fps :D

  • Is this worth getting it on Xbox One? I haven’t touched my Xbox console in ages I just bought the console a while back maybe a year ago for $80 I’ve never been an xbox gamer. But since there’s PS4 copy should I go for that? And get a <$100 PS4 console if I can. Which is better XB1 or PS4? Thanks in advanced.

Not sure whether there is a new patch for PS4/PS4 Pro version, XBox One version is set to a higher dynamic resolution (for XBox One X). PS4 version had some exclusive content earlier on (can't remember the detail). I played on XBox One X (I had PS4 Pro as well) though a lot of people who pre-ordered the game and picked up the game on launch day bought PS4 version. Without a proper next gen patch, PS5 would run in backward compatibility mode (PS4 Pro) so it runs at a slightly lower dynamic resolution than Series X.

Rockstar has not released a proper version for PS5 or Series X to take full advantage of the SSD so even when using Series X or PS5, it still takes a while to load the game.

    Best Game Ever!!!

  • Kidnap the local sherif hog tie him and feed him to a bear lol

  • I’m impressed there’s still brand new physical copies of this game around.

  • Ordered! Put off buying this game long enough. After finishing BG3 and TLOU 1/2, need another great single-player game.
