  • Rumor said DSE has just been sold? Is there more sale coming?

    • +1

      It is real, check this:http://www.zdnet.com/au/woolworths-sells-dick-smith-electronics-to-anchorage-capital-7000004875/

Quick, use up any Wish gift cards you already have, DSE probably won't honour them after the sale is complete. And the price becomes effectively $122.55 if you bought those gift cards at 5% discount.

  • Would this have a sata connector? I know that these are quite thick so they won't fit in most 2.5" caddies.

    • This drive doesn't need a caddy, it is already USB3!

Were you thinking of a firewire/thunderbolt/E-SATA caddy?

      • Well, thinking about putting it in the PS3 and it might not fit, I also don't like the new usb 3 connector as my Vantec USB 3 usb2/3 snapped off the pcb.

  • Great deal… haven't seen these for this price for a very long time.. 2 years ago now :) and they were usb2.0

    • it does not.

      that's a 3.5" drive.

    • External Hard Drive usually needs an extra AC adapter. Portable Hard Drive is usually USB powered.

    • Officeworks don't stock this drive, so no price matching possible either.

I wish my local DSE hadn't closed 6 months ago. They weren't useful for much, other than special deals like this one.

  • how is it that only one person who voted +ve for this deal, also did so for http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/80770?

Other deal is better. Expansion is Seagate's budget range.

some people has different preference…..size does matter

  • thanks bud bought one today

  • These USB drives have a "Super Speed" propriety socket on the drive.

Major pain in the neck for me. Probably wouldn't have bought them if I'd have know this to begin with. :(
