I have to admit, though, Samsung TV warranty service is good.

Mine had a spider-shaped screen crack appear one day, no image. The external glass wasn't cracked, so it was internal, but the service guy could have easily insisted I'd hit the screen and refused warranty repair. I was polite but firm (I'd seen cases of spontaneous Samsung PDP panel cracking online).

He happily fixed it under warranty. Less than 48 hours from call to new screen.

  • C=2010 model D=2011 E=2012 2013
This model did have a few problems .

I rationalised that the size, reputable brand and service might make this deal worth it. I am struggling to find something similar in this size for this price.

    • You should be able to find the current 51" E Series model (PS51E550) brand new for about the same price. It is a step down in size though.

    I have a C series Samsung but it's an LED one,…..and It's great !

A 58" TV for this price is excellent !

  • Similar model currently at BigW but over 2K: http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics/televisions/plasma-tv/bpn…

If these models are outdated, why are the retailers selling them at current prices? Perhaps its the 600hz?

  • Thanks op just purchased one

    • Great! I haven't bought one but I hope you have a good experience.

  • This is a factory second, isn't it? Probably one of the many salvaged from warranty repairs due to the purple band of death problem. Need more info on the warranty that comes with the TV.

I had this TV for a year (before warranty replacement for the new E series 60", currently retails for around $2000), and it's a great TV, other than the purple band of death. The new E series is better though, in my opinion, in particularly with black level.

    • It says it is on the link near the price: FACTORY 2ND?

"Appliances in perfect working order, they may have a cosmetic blemish, be factory reworked, an ex display model, or just have a 'tiny ding' incurred during transit."

    • DVDGuy why did they replace it ? i have this tv and have had a repair guy adjust voltages due to picture hazing about 3 weeks ago then thursday night it went pop and now i have no picture only sound the guy is comming back out tuesday i think it prob a power supply

  • Thanks I am sure it will be fine has a 12mth warranty.

    • if you buy a new tv then you are entitled to years of statutory warranty. buying a 2nd hand tv = none.

  • From what I recall, the C7000 Plasma was very good.

  • If this is a 2010 model, it works with the IR 3d glasses? We have a heap of them for our current TV that we got with that awesome deal on here XD

EDIT: Also, any ideas on warranty?

    • Looks like standard 12 month. Look a quarter of the way down on the link below:

      • Cool, thanks. I'm thinking it may be worth getting in writing from them that issues like the purple bar people have had are still covered, since they note exclusions like bumps and dings given it's a factory second.

I have this model in 50 size (50c7000) and I'm still amazed with its PQ everytime I watch a bluray. This model has the real black filter that makes a huge difference. Video streaming works great too.

Im suprised they still have 2.5 years old tv in their stock though.

    • I do have the same…picture quality is great. May be i'm wrong but I felt like it's better than the new 51" . The only thing I felt it's lacking is a web browser…

      • +1

Online connectivity is important to me too but I figure bluray players have them these days.

  • damn good size. trust me bigger is better for tv, get the biggest you can afford.

    • A projector then. About $1000 for a 1080p screen as big as your wall.

  • I have this tv had a guy come 2 weeks ago under extended warranty as there were haze lines across the screen he adjuated some voltages and said its a common problem. then last night when watching it pop then no picture only sound there coming out tuesday again well see what happens. i suspect its a power supply.DVDguy why did they replace yours??

  • Absolute steal for 58 inches. I have a Samsung Plasma, but the 51 inch, and the next "series" (D), but I paid 850 for it a year ago and am very happy. Picture quality rivals sets that cost hundreds more.

    • What! I have the same TV but paid 2K the week it was released and thought it was cheap! Where from?

      Brilliant TV.

    I bought one in 2010 for $2200

At the time damn cheap, came with free bluray player and couple movies and 4 pairs glasses

Still in great condition and everything works properly. Pic quality is awesome, no joke

Internet app called WIKI / VIKI or something and it streams new korean movies and drama! A few movies from Phillipines/Indonesia/India as well

Media player plays everything except RMVB which I dont use anyway

I had one of these. the first one was replaced due to the purple screen of death, then a few months later the replacement had the same issue. I would steer clear of these, they are shocking units.

I have the 63inch samsung c7000 and absolutely love it I originally purchased the 50 inch then decided I needed bigger got mine for $1595 About 8 months ago and I believe the picture is better than the new e series plasma as my uncle has the 64 inch and he agrees the picture is superior. Amazing price for a 3d internet capable TV the picture quality watching foxtel hd or blu ray is awesome. I would purchase the extended warranty for piece of mind. Thinking about getting this for my bedroom As I have about 6 pairs of glasses that are only compatible with this model.

  • Bang for buck this is a great tv, particularly for this price.

  • Sold out :(
