An old movie with a band playing? No wonder it's 40 pop now.

    • I think this is a genuine question? Is it the old movie with a live orchestra?

"Experience Ridley Scott’s multi-Academy Award®️-nominated cult classic, Blade Runner (2007 Final Cut), on a vast screen while Vangelis' synthesiser-led score is performed live in-sync with the 1982 motion picture."

Damn, I paid $55 but I did get better seats.

To me one of the best things about Blade Runner is the music. It will be interesting to hear how well this works.

  • A sci-fi live performance, curious to hear how that works

    • It’s a movie that you’re paying $20 for watching again in a huge theater with a small screen

Then add $20 on top for the live music

Hamer Hall has brilliant acoustics though.

Empire sounded so much better than Star Wars at the plenary.

      • At this price the compromise is absolutely worth it, experiencing your favourite films with a live score is peak. Saw There Will Be Blood a couple years back and it was revelatory

    • Probably like this except with Blade Runner instead.

  • I'd watch this live if I lived in Melbourne. The soundtrack is awesome in both movies.

    • Good news for you: you can watch it at Aware Super Theatre in February

I saw something like this when the MSO held one for The Godfather. Was worthwhile, and if the MSO did one for this I'd be all over it (too much synth for me in Vangelis soundtracks, RIP).

A note for anyone who does go; remember you're there for the music so don't just bolt out the door as soon as the credits roll like I saw others do, because that's when the music plays uninterrupted (duh). Then again, I think Marvel movies have conditioned us to sit through credits now, waiting for extra scenes…
