I've been looking for an affordable TV recorder and found this. I think it's quite a decent deal. Hardly Normal does have some good deals some time.

Price beat JB HiFi, VideoPro and The Good Guys.

Just one thing I'm not sure of, there's one review I read it says users can't play media files directly from portable USB HDDs but $453 isn't a bad price.

    Might be cheaper getting a 500gb PS3 with PlayTV attachment which can record all your TV shows & play PS3 games as well?

      You cant burn your shows to BD with PS3 and PlayTV..

        You can't burn shows to BD with this either…

        You need the BWT720 or BWT820 models to actually burn Blu-Ray - the 'P' in PWT520 means it is a Blu-Ray 'PLAYER' only !!!

        Harvey Norman has it WRONG - It is a Blu-Ray PLAYER, and Hard Disk Recorder…

        They also have this model incorrectly described for anybody who is looking at it;

    WARNING - Harvey Norman describes this as a 'Panasonic DMR-PWT520GL 3D Capable Blu-ray Recorder' - it is NOT !!!

    It is a Blu-Ray PLAYER, Hard Disk RECORDER…

    You can confirm this by looking at the Panasonic Australia page;

    And if you download the PDF manual you find that on pages 6 & 7 it describes recording to disc (CD/DVD/BD) as 'impossible'
