If you're after a better TV in terms of image quality, I would probably go with the X90K instead for $1169 (if you don't mind a refurbished TV). Much better value for your money.

Brighter image and deeper blacks as it has local dimming, which means the panel has different zones it can completely turn off for deep blacks. Closest thing to an OLED without spending OLED money.

The X80L (2023) is a newer TV, but I think the X90K (2022) is a better buy overall. The X90L (2023) is available on Sony's eBay store but it costs significantly more at $1799 after discounts.

Hit or miss reviews with Sony's refurbished TV's, but I got myself a refurbished X90J (2021) recently and it's been flawless. People tend to voice negative experiences more than positive ones so that can skew things sometimes.
