  • Can avios points be spent on something other than flights? I have 120k citi points and weighing up whether worth converting to avios if not flying

  • Does this also apply for Transfers from AMEX?

    • The participating partners:
Ahlibank, Ahli United Bank, ahlibank Oman, Cathay United Bank, CBQ, Citibank, CTBC Bank, Doha Bank, Dukhan Bank, Emirates Islamic, HSBC Hong Kong, HSBC Sri Lanka, HSBC USA, Hyundai Card - AMEX, Kasikorn Bank, Kuwait Finance House, Mashreq, Ping An E-wallet, QIIB, QNB.

      So I guess not.

    • Similar deal was with AMEX couple of months ago,20% bonus, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/788936

Hope they one day do a Kris Flyer bonus…

      • 30% transfer bonus from CBA to KF

        • Nice - though I don't have CBA

  • Seems like I can't transfer to Avios, only Kris Flyer and Velocity…

    • Same here, has qatar been removed? I've transferred from citibank to qatar before but now it's not there.

      • Weird. It’s there for me. Which card? I have prestige

        • Just the citi Rewards card. I did have prestige but cancelled it, and that was the one I could transfer to Qatar.

Weird that the transfer depends on the credit card? That's a shame.

Edit: apparently not so weird, transfer rates and partners change based on card according to the table on pointhacks: https://www.pointhacks.com.au/citibank/

        • I have Premier. Definitely no option to transfer to Qatar Avios. Must be card type dependent.
When you transferred before, what was the conversion ratio?

  • What’s the conversion ratio?

  • My points transferred across WITHOUT the 30% bonus? Is anyone in the same boat?

    • Bonus seems to come later. Sometimes as much as 30 days later

      • Oh ok - thanks.

  • I can't seem to make these points work for me from Citi Prestige.

3:1 conversion rate and a business class flight from Perth to Doha is over 100k points. Makes more sense to convert to KrisFlyer or Velocity.

    Thoughts?

Avios utilises a lot more of the OneWorld partners than Krisflyer and I think from memory they have a cheaper round-the-world redemption as well. So many more upside than Krisflyer.
