  • Have successfully activated on MacOS - thank you!

I will try and install my Windows copy tonight too

    • With Easeus being a Chinese based company

can I be sure this product isn't data harvesting for the CCP?

      • +5

Why do we care if the CCP is harvesting data?

        • +1

          Why dont "we" care?

          • @Goremans: Because every program is harvesting your data, especially your android phone or your iphone. They are recording your voice, recording your images, recording your location, recording your browsing history, spending habits etc. If you go for an outing in public, odds are you've been filmed and stored on about 50 different cameras. This is the modern age, just have to accept it.

  • +23

After being majorly dispointed in the crap M$ Windows video editing, I've found that Davinci Resolve is probably the best "free" alternative. It's super powerful even for the free parts of the app.

I think Clipchamp is not bad

      • +1

Lol.. it's absolutely the trashest product I've seen coming from MS for a very very long time (I don't think they even wrote it.. but acquired it).
        https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/microsoft-clipchamp/9P1J8S…
Reviews reflect my thoughts on it.

        • +1

Agree tho it does some quick basic editing for me. I used to think it was somehow good so MS bought it back then.

          • +4

@Bii: Makes me miss the OG Windows Movie Maker.. That was very very simple (that even my 10 yo son could use), did the job and worked well without any payment plans etc.

            • +1

@bchliu: I still have the installer for WMM6 for Win 7 32 & 64. An older fella I knew said it still works. Not sure if he had to fiddle with it though.

              • @Geekomatic: Lol.. I dunno where my copy went.. but it was nice and simple, but yet effective and did pretty much most of the things that you'd want it to do. But yeah, will it work in the modern Windows is probably another story.

      • Really? Hitfilm is far superior

        • Never tried Hitfilm before… I'll give it a go

  • +6

Any view on how much of a big deal this is? Or is it just marketing fluff?

    • +2

Don't know anything about this one but be careful of "lifetime" deals on AppSumo. You can find out that your getting a low tier capability for life. Free is free but is it worth having? Well, that's a different question.

  • Wish there was a direct link to install without signing up.

    • +1

      10 minute email friend.
      :)

  • Thanks op installed on windows 10 .

  • I've been using Pinnacle Studio 23 which came as part of a Corel Humble Bundle.
Pinnacle Studio 23 is pretty good, not sure how it compares to Davinci Resolve free.

    • I's say Pinnacle is a little more user friendly… a bit more consumer if that makes sense. Resolve free probably has a steeper learning curve, but it'll do pretty much anything you need. I think the Mac version is a bit more fully featured than windows.

      • +1

Thanks, I mainly use basic functions like clipping and joining. The main thing is that the edited video should not have any visual downgrades from the original videos (when using the same resolution and encoding).

        • Pinnacle is fine for that.

Quality of the exports…yeah, that's sorta a different topic entirely. Enjoy the 2 or 3 youtube videos you'll find covering that….

  • Thanks mate

  • +2

I normally use shotcut, how does this compare?

    • And that has Motion Tracking too!

  • Downloaded on Mac with the code! Although I only have 4 options on the software? Only video converter + compressor and audio extractor and converter. Does anyone know if I've done something wrong?

    • Just did the same thing, looks like video editor is only for windows from their website. Bummer

      • +3

I'm on OSX too, and got the same video/audio convertor only download. Must have tried DLing it a dozen times and no difference, even downloaded the video kit app from the official sales page, and its not the right one. Got onto the developer's online chat, which after the usual trouble shooting questions, asked me if they could log into my mac remotely… then I had to download the teamviewer app so they could log in… They spent 20-30mins poking around my Mac, and eventually sourced the correct download file (from a server URL) and installed it for me… Admittedly, it was way harder than it should have been. But I now have the correct application running on my Mac.

Just thought it was worth mentioning, if you're still having issues

        • Thanks for sharing your experience. It is quite funny that they need do a trouble shooting remotely as if they could not just download and intall in their own computer. It shall not be that difficult.

        • Do you happen to know where we can download the correct file? Not a huge fan of using teamviewer.

          • +4

@Itsjackson: Teamview with someone unknown from China. No thanks.

        • +4

Check your history to see what the direct download link was & post it here. That'd be nice for the Mac folks at OZB.

      • If you're using MacOS, why not use iMovie?

  • sweet thanks!
wonder how it compares to da vinci tho?

    • DaVinci Resolve is pro level software. Though with a pro level learning curve.

  • Thanks

  • +2

Hope this free lifetime lasts longer than the shoddy Pixelcut 'lifetime' offer from earlier in the year.
    Thanks for sharing OP

  • instructions unclear.. i installed software and it wants me to upgrade to pro version $80

    • +1

The license key provided upon redemption should convert it to Pro version AFAIK

    • +1

Ignore that popup window, and when you run the program, there is an option up the top right "Upgrade to Pro", click that and at the bottom there is an option to enter a license key, so click that and enter the license they sent you in your email when you redeemed beforehand. It will be in the format xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx. After that, the Pro version will be unlocked.

  • +5

At the bottom of the "Buy License" page, there is a not-so-obvious field for you to enter the License Key (check your email) to activate the product to Pro.

    • Cheers @tekken

  • Thanks - EaseAs

  • +2

Has anyone here actually used this software?

  • +6

For Mac users - Download the actual VideoKit and not just Converter from this URL:
    https://www.easeus-down.com/20231103/Mac_EVCv2.1.0_Free.dmg

MacOS may warn at first about unable to verify, but it is legit. ** Though still doesn't have the editing - just more tools **

    • Thanks so much for the link! I thought it was something of my own doing messing up the download.

    • Not saying it's intentional, but this is a sketchy looking link when the Windows download below comes from d.easeus.com 🤔

  • Thank you for sharing OP. FYI, the redemption code is issued via email, not the code shown in App Sumo.

  • +1

The sofware was pretty easy to download, install and activate PRO for Windows. PRO version has the full toolkit as promised. But it is certainly nor built for my laptop screen resolution. Doesn't fit the screen, you can't reach half of the features in menu. Design looks pixelated.

  • +5

For anyone who doesn't want to create an Appsumo account, use an email, etc.

    Windows download: https://d.easeus.com/evk/videokit_trial.exe
    Activation Code: TEU5F-YJD3J-NNPI1-ZRNB8-561QI

    It's a generic code.

  • +1

    anyone else getting activation error?
"Activation Failed. Unable to activate EaseUS VideoKit. Please check your network connection and try again"

(have tried also with Windows Firewall turned off)

    • Same here

      • +1

must be issue with 4WD's code above. I registered with appsumo using disposable email and got a different code that has activated successfully

        • Ah beauty thanks for the info mate, will give it a go in a bit to confirm.

        • Interesting, tried three different temp email addresses and got the same code each time - flushed browser cache between tries, used a VPN, and tried a different incognito browser once and still got the same code.

  • Basic but with still heaps of different functions. Easy to use. Thanks OP.

  • +1

Downloading now but a thumbs up also for VSDC free video editor not mentioned yet.
    https://www.videosoftdev.com/

  • I am over this app and its hoops and data mining. Done all the instructions but cannot find a way to redeem it whilst going back to the listing it says: Get access now. Simply redeem the product within 60 days.

Simply Redeem the product? I cannot find any links or click to get a license, they have not sent me one nor can find a way to download it or obtain a code.

Its jut not meant to be.

    All the best.
