  • Will JB hi Fi price match this?

    • +1

      Yes they will

    • Yes, it's fulfilled by Amazon AU.

  • Razer Kiyo X same price (not the cheapest it has been) - $89

    • It's also a much worse webcam, but you shouldn't go for either.

      • What a better alternative than the c922 <$90?

        • Your phone at $0.

Otherwise there's stuff like the Logitech Streamcam and the Razer Kiyo Pro which have gotten to about there or close.

Not worth it now in the smartphone era, particularly if you have a phone on Android 14 that supports video out from its USB-C port, or a recent iPhone and a macOS device.

    • how can one make this work exactly?

      • -2

www.google.com has loads of information on the subject.

        • They're not wrong, I gave enough hints to google that instantly.

Agree for personal video calls, but a separate webcam for WFH is a vast improvement over laptop cams and I don’t want to put my phone out of order everytime I need the cam (which is sadly far too much of my day). Apart from the picture of quality, being able to position a cam on main monitor rather than everyone watching the side of your head or up your nose is nice.

I got my webcam from Facebook marketplace for about $50. Older C920 Carl Zeiss 1080p but works well.

Here is a decent review of the C922 and C920
        https://www.pcworld.com/article/410571/logitech-c922-review-…

For my home office, the C920 is worth the $50 I paid. The auto adjust isn't great in the later afternoon when the sunlight shines directly into the window I'm facing (manual adjust works fine). I also find MS Teams further reduces image quality - which is a shame.

Just be aware that older Logitech webcam drivers are incompatible with Microsoft Windows Core Isolation security feature. You'll need to use MS drivers for the webcam or leave CI disabled. Meaning some loss of function.

        For $89 - this is a bargain. I'd buy it, if I didn't always have a C920

  • Is this good enough for youtube?

    • +2

If you're overlaying yourself in the corner of a gamestream it's fine.

If you mean as a primary camera for filming, it will look pretty bad. You can do 1080/30 which will suffice with good lighting, but the colour and sharpness are nothing like what you see from people who make a living off YouTube.

It's a webcam, not a full featured videocamera.
