Worth it for the stereo mic , flawless audio on teams.

    • I got the C920. I can attest the quality and flawless audio. My cam is literally in front of my PC desk speaker and my audience couldn't hear any feedback during video conference. Get it if you can.

      • I've always used a headset with this. Does it really cancel out noise from your speakers?

        • In my experience, it really does. I used the mic stand (tripod) with C920 literally in front of my desk PC speaker (Altec Lansing) and I even checked with my audience if they could hear any feedback or their own voice as they speak out from my speakers, they said no.

Audio quality was great as well, they told me. No lens cap.

Razer Kiyo also reduced to $67.60

    • This looks like a better 'deal'. Anyone able to compare the two?

      • Stay away from the Kiyo, the C922 is much better according to reviews

I haven't used the C922 but have had a Kiyo for quite a while. The Kiyo is a great camera and the ring light is nice to have integrated. Seriously great picture, and good enough (if not great) audio.

That being said, the auto-focus is extremely inconsistent: great when it works but when it "loses" you, it has very noticeable hunting that can be a bit distracting for a while until it sorts itself out. I leave my camera on manual focus personally.

Combined pro and con: its configured with Razer Synapse. If you already have and use Synapse, it's nice to be able to set up your camera without more stuff. If you don't already use Razer gear though, it's just another heavy proprietary vendor (like G Hub for the C922).

        • Thanks for the info. I have both Razer Synapse and GHUB so software isn't much of a concern - they both suck.

I do usually take late evening calls where lighting can sometimes be an issue so I'm leaning towards the Kiyo. In my 5 mins of research I've not seen many say the C922 is much better.

Shame neither of them have a privacy cover.

@devize: Yeah I've found the Kiyo to be a solid choice. Great picture, good audio, okay autofocus, and the light is a nice to have built in if you don't have (or want) a separate key light.

I fear this is the version that is blocked on my work network…

    • Even though it's a USB peripheral? How does that work?

      • +6

It works via humour (TCP port 6969)

        • Jokes tend to land better when they make sense

          • @beltdrive: I'm sure lots of other people understood it (besides myself).

Fair enough if people don't appreciate the political humour, but the joke itself was perfectly straightforwards.

        • +1 for nerd humour

          also

          ……nice

      • Recognise the device ID, blocked.

we tried switching to a Voice-over-cups-and-tight-string based comms system, but you can guess where the disposable cups came from…

        • Them fishing line was made there too and can likely be spied upon by a third party.

  • The specs and descriptions on Amazon are woeful. Elsewhere it says the country of origin is Swaziland.

How can one of the biggest corporations in the world be so bad at getting basic stuff right?

Have one of these, works well in my WFH set up. Remember to get the lens cover for it though (for old school suspicious people like me)

Just disconnect it - if youre worried about visuals also concern yourself about the internal mic.

  • God dammit, I bought this 4 days ago for $99!

    Does Amazon do price guarantee?

Buy this one and return the old one.

    • If you go on chat, and ask nicely they might.

      • Just go all karen and scream like a banshee demanding the manager.

      • I tried, no luck. Was a prime special….

was going to return and buy it, but its now out of stock! lol

  • Looking possibly webcam for family chat on smart tv messaging apps orr through Nvidia shield etc, for what app or messenger or Google duo ,would this make it happen? And if so has anyone clipped these on to Oled tvs ?

  • This is a good webcam but does everyone use headphones when they work from home? Personally I hate having to wear shit on my head or in and around my ears. At the office obviously you have to.

At home I like to use a webcam with mic PLUS speaker so there’s some inbuilt noise cancellation factored into it. Therefore I don’t have to put anything on my head all day - just hearing everyone over the speaker while video calling.

I just got a cheap ish amazon one and it’s been perfect for over a year so far.

    • I assume the output would just be through computer speakers with this webcam? Or is the argument there the quality isn't good enough?

      • Well if you aren’t wearing any headphones then the sound output would feed back into the mic, so you have to have headphones

    • Which one did you get? I’ve just changed to a monitor without speakers so need something like that as the new monitor also doesn’t leave space for the work laptop to be open on my desk. It will be great for gaming though 😂

  • I bought one of these used for about $150 during the great webcam shortage of early-mid 2020!

    • the great webcam shortage of early-mid 2020!

      Those were bleak times.

No longer available at $75 it seems.
