Pretty sure these have been way cheaper before.

Not really, these Ryzen 7s are half decent (~16000 passmark). The ones that were ~$250 had crappy Celeron CPUs (~4000 passmark).

      • Would you pick this over the i5-12450H variant? Can't seem to decide…

the i5 stomps the ryzen 7 so theres your answer

          • +9

@jig93: The 12450h is a 90w TDP vs 5700U 35watts. The 12450h might be throttled a bit considering how small the case is.

          • +1

@jig93: Doesn't the Ryzen have way better integrated graphics abilities? You could have on this thing I think, but the Intel… Not so much?

        • +1

The 12450H has much stronger single core performance and AV1 decode where the 5700U does not. OTOH the 5700U has a much lower TDP of 15W vs 45W of the 12450H, but these days CPU's are very good at power gating, so the 12450H will likely idle at a very similar power level to the 5700U, will have better performance at the same power and will be able to briefly boost up to much higher performance levels until the cooling solution is overwhelmed at which point it will throttle to a lower performance level (though still likely higher than the Ryzen).

I stopped checking after page 3 of 5700U posted recently and none were cheaper.

      • Yeah I think I was thinking of this $474 deal which had a better CPU but $83 more expensive.

This deal is therefore not bad.

  • Good small nas if it supports sata disk.

Anyone know the fan noise situation on these? My old mini PC (10th gen Intel) would constantly have the small fan whirring even on idle, and the noise drove me insane. Eventually sold it for a Mac Mini which is dead silent.

    • My Beelink Sei8 is silent when idle. I had it running Dark Souls remastered yesterday and didn't notice the fan at all but I have it sitting under my TV about 1m away from me.

    • I bought one of these recently ($350 from same seller). VERY quiet. Although I probably haven't pushed it that much yet. Using it as a HTPC currently. Mind you, my old HTPC's fan used to go nuts watching NBA League Pass through Chrome. This Beelink SER5 has been silent so far.

And yes, comes with Win 11 Pro. So far no complaints, except just tried playing Jusant and it chuggs big time. Thought the game might be less graphically intensive, but I was obviously wrong!

Does this not come with Windows? Noticed it was mentioned as included on their cheaper Intel version but not for this

    • +1

Reviews says comes with win11 pro. I am going to take a punt and buy it

  • i can see TDP 10-25W [5700U] vs 6W [N100]
any ideas on total system power consumption at lowest and highest possible configurable settings

    • +2

Hard to know with the SKU's on offer, I've heard of n100's skus pulling ~25-28W under load with 16GB/500GB specs.

Some higher some lower, some have internal fans others passive cooling.

    • AMD idle power consumption is generally not great, although their mobile (U) chipsets are much better than the desktop CPUs.

The 5700U will be much faster than an N100, though.

  • Beelink 7840HS+16GB/1TB was selling for around $600 AUD in China JD a few days ago

i hope there's something similar from Amazon

    • Is that the SER7 model?

      • +1

that's right it is the SER7

    • Can you please educate me on this China jd, this a store or app?

    • what's the keyword you used for searching these mini pc on JD? Does Beelink have a Chinese name? Considering how small these mini pcs are, I may buy one early next year when i am in China if the price is really good…

    • +1

it is selling from the official Beelink store on JD.com
the website is not English friendly and needs to create an account with them in order to view the items they are selling
below is a screenshot of the product

      https://imgur.com/a/Ty113gb

I am not sure if they send it to oversea or not
I worry about warranty but at this price ($600) is very tempting

      • thanks for sharing. They don’t need to be English friendly, as long as they are Chinese friendly :D

        I will have a look.

  • Ahhh this is such a good deal… Resist…

  • Really tempted, but reluctant cos black friday is so close

    • When exactly I thought we already had black Friday.

  • Thoughts on the 32GB/1TB version for $461? Is it worth it to double capacity for an extra $70?

    • +1

Depends what you want to do with it but seems cheaper then upgrading yourself after the fact
