  • I am just about to be upgraded to fttp from fttn.

I currently have an old Telstra modem that I’ve been told will work, but wondering if I’m better off with these (which ISPs seem to recommend)

wont need a modem for fttp

      • They most likely mean a wifi router…

    • but wondering if I’m better off with these

Depends if you a happy with your current wifi connections or not…

    • I am using Telstra Gen 2 modem. Just upgrade to FTTP from More and also got got eero6+ free with the upgrade.
But I kept my Telstra modem which is working fine after upgrade. Now I am thinking to sell the eero6+

Just noticed this is an import model, so if it is it might have nerfed 2.4ghz wifi transmit power if it comes from UK. Not an issue if you got smaller home and will fully deploy all 3 nodes though.

I would recommend getting the eero 6 Plus if you're a smart home / IOT power user, since those integrate Matter + Zigbee support right into the routers.

    • Eero 6 has zigbee hub also. Gave up trying to get it to work with various sensors and went with Home Assistant on a Pi with Sonoff zigbee dongle instead.

  • Usa import?

Wait for Amazon AU Black Friday deals and purchase Aussie stock.

    • It can't be that cheap.

  • So this can replace my router? It can do stuff like port forwarding? Or do I still need to connect this to my router?

    • +1

Yes, this includes 1 router and 2 extenders.
