  • What's been your experience with then?

    • Great devices, been using 2 in my place for years. Id get the Wi-Fi 6 one if I had o get one today for future proofing

      • Thank you

  • +1

Eero 7 has been released in the USA. Twice the range and up to 4 times the speed of the 6 Pro. These 6's are going to get cheap quick.

    • in australia though… is there much point outside of offices with substantial local network transfers?

      • +1

If you are on gigabit NBN then you should be able to get 900Mbps on Wifi 7 assuming your connection is maxing out around 900Mbps from the NBN anyway

Only 400 Mbps on Wifi 6

        • +1

          Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E is capable of Gigabit. You don't need Wi-Fi 7 for that.

          • @Twix: BS

You get about 400Mbps out of these Eero 6 units in wifi…

            • @TheCandyMan2020: I thought you were referring to the Wi-Fi 6 specifications in general. There are routers from say Asus that can do Gigabit over Wi-Fi 6.

Yeah the eero 6 is capable of anywhere from 200Mbps-700Mbps over Wi-Fi 6.

              • +1

@Twix: If you look at the reviews you are expecting 400Mbps max unless sitting next to the router/access point.

These are good value but not noted for extreme performance.

To be fair with a wifi 7 Eero 7 you'll need a device capable of Wifi 7 - not many current devices support above wifi 6

                • +1

@TheCandyMan2020: This just in: an Amazon device aimed at consumers can't do prosumer things

Honestly, what bloke on gigabit is looking for anything from Amazon for their wifi network? (Assuming they have some setup that can actually benefit from a gigabit wifi link anyway)

                  • -2

                    @fleetfeather: Oh great Oracle

Where do you buy your gigabit gear?

                    Ali Express??

                    • @TheCandyMan2020: When I decide to waste $120 per month on 1000/50 for no applicable use case scenario, I'll be sure to consult with you on appropriate non-Amazon hardware options

    • You'd just need to go into the network settings and put the Eeros into bridge mode so the IPs come from your router. But depending on the specific of your NBN connection you may not even need the d-link router any more as in a lot of cases these eero's can plug straight into the nbn box.

  • Do the 6s have Ethernet backhaul?

    • Not with this eero 6 3-pack bundle. Purchase 2 or more of the eero 6 router ($139.99 each) for ethernet backhaul.

      • -1

In the 3 pack they are all identical units….

        Backhaul is included.

        • +1

Not with the eero 6 3-pack. eero 6 extenders don't have ethernet ports.

Amazon eero 6 mesh Wi-Fi system (1 router, 2 extenders)
2 Ethernet ports on eero 6 router only

  • Does anyone used Eero Mesh wifi router 5.
Is it good enough to get tye best internet.

Moore telecom is providing free upgrades with the NBN fast plan with no fees and also you can claim $159 for buying a eero mesh wifi router.

    • The Wi-Fi 5 eero can do 100Mbps and 250Mbps. It won't do 1000Mbps.

      • It can reach more. I have the WI-Fi 5 pack and get 350-500Mbps over WiFi on a 1000Mbps connection. Mine are all connected with Ethernet backhaul however. If you add the third eero without backhaul it drops drastically to the speeds you mentioned.
