Anyone around the Rowville area in vic want to split this? Just looking to add the angle grinder to my collection

    • +1

I would like it but would also want a grinder and the normal drill….don't need impact..

    • If only they would discount single items like this. I too would like to get my hands on an angle grinder

  • good deal

  • -1

Use discounted Ultimate Home GC if you have.

  • wow great deal, good way to get into the dewalt ecosystem

  • +1

Hard to beat at full price. Even better at this one. I have this exact same set and many other DeWalt tools - never had an issue. The only problem is that you end up with multiples over time…

Often wise to look for specials on Amazon as occasionally overseas versions come out a lot cheaper than locally sourced but of course you don't get local warranty. E.g an orbital sander was $115 AUD sourced via Amazon Australia a while ago. I was more than prepared to lose the local warrantly at that price…

    • +1

Yes that orbital sander deal from 2021 was amazing. Looking to add the DCW604N router to my collection so I've been watching Amazon prices

      • +1

ha…been doing the same. Keep an eye on eBay too, Great router

      • +1

Not sure if you are still looking but this seems about as good as it'll get for the DCW604N

  • Where does Dewalt rank between Ozito < Ryobi < Milwaukee?

    • +3

It beats ozito it beats ryobi and some prefer milwaukee others dewalt.

I put milwaukee and dewalt same level

    • +3

Much better than Ozito and Ryobi. Probably a touch below Milwaukee.

      • Damn, why didn’t anyone say anything ehen that Ryobi deal was posted.

        • Because Ryobi is usually more than enough for DIY

          • +1

@vanreek: It still pisses me off that there’s so many different tool battery standards. A universal standard would give you much more freedom.

            • +1

@AustriaBargain: Metabo has the case battery system shared with a bunch of specialist European brands
              Or
There’s adaptors from one brand to another ,
              Usually found on eBay .
              They will run tools .
But they won’t charge batteries on different chargers .

    • I've just started replacing my ozito with dewalt. I got a great 5 piece set for $849 from a previous deal. It's been a major step up. I was getting frustrated with the lack of power and how flimsy ozito was. I use my tools a couple of times a week.

  • Great deal! Started a Ryobi collection with only an impact driver so far but will be offloading it to get this.

  • I’ll take the impact if anyone doesn’t need it.

  • I have these tools, they are great, this is the metal chuck drill. Can't believe the price really. Recommend. Tempted to buy to have another set, but already bought the cheaper drill and impact from a costco deal. Multiple drills is great to save swapping bits for some jobs.

  • How does dewalt compare to AEG?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/810599

    • +1

Same same i'd say, but i'd go the AEG for the 6 year warranty.

  • very nice deal, bought it for 429 and quite happy with it as a starter kit

  • I bought a dewalt combo kit recently and haven't even opened it. So I am thinking to return and get this deal instead.
I need some advice for hammer drill and impact driver as the combo kit I've got has different models with higher torque.
    https://www.totaltools.com.au/198646-dewalt-18v-2-piece-1-x-…

Does it make a big differences with higher torque on hammer drill and impact driver?
I have an impact wrench and a rotary hammer drill so is it better to have an angle grinder in my dewalt eco system? lol
I am not a professional trade person at all haha

    • Not a tradie either, but if you already have a rotary hammer you don't need the higher torque hammer drill. The impact driver may still matter but in my experience even the cheapest impact driver works fine for DIY stuff.

    • I have the DCD805 and it is effortless on brick and wood, yet to try it on metal or concrete. This is paired with basic Bosch green drills and compared to an older and basic Ryobi model.

With the higher torque it also comes down to technique. It may take less effort but I have seen some users with smaller hands and wrists have it jump on application when not being held right.

Seems to be out of stock, my order was just cancelled

    • +1

When did you place yours? When i see the deal this morning, everystore near me was showing OOS, but it still let me put an order thru for delivery. Fingercross if i am lucky to get it

      • Placed the order around 10am for delivery. Cancellation came through 5 mins later so you should be sweet

      • Mmm, when I posted this I did wonder if it was a price error as it said it was a price match on their page but a google showed no one else had the same price. I don't think Total Tools have the best reputation for honoring price errors. Hopefully its a stock issue rather than everyones orders being cancelled

        • I did see that price match as well, i did have to registered to be a insider memmber before i could check out though. Hopefull it get fulfil as i have not received any cancellation email yet

        • It's not a price error, just obsolete stock. Called a few stores and they said it was old stock bring cleared out

    • Sorry mate! It seems like this page has gone walkabouts…
      Error code: 404

    • +1

      Yep, OOS.

Of the three tools, I only wanted need the impact driver and bit set.

      • Same! I was just waiting on my mates feedback as I was holding out for Makita

  • Mine got cancelled unfortunately.

  • got cancelled too

  • My order is cancelled as well

  • +1

Canceled my order as well after 2 days. Deceptive and false advertising for products they don’t actually have for sale. Won’t be shopping at Total Tools again.

  • Cancelled my order also
