TCL c845 is supposedly much better, but hundreds more as well.

Highly recommend. Picked it up for $1800 at EOFY sale bing lee with 5 year warranty (massive compared to other brands/outlets with 1 or 2 years). PROS: The brightness is astonishing and it's perfect for my 4k plex server (regularly running 80+ GB movies). Overall incredible image for the price. TIP: disable all post filtering for the best experience. CONS: Missing spotify app, but it has Bluetooth music like in a car where it can show on screen what's playing and all that stuff. Very solid compromise as I use it for music too. It's genuinely unbeatable at this size and for $1800.

    • Is Hisense one of the good brands that send local technicians out to replace panels or TVs with minimal questions?

  • Nearly 1k less than JB Hifi, great deal!

  • 144 hz refresh rate. Sweet

  • Blooming? Tvs generally are great at HDR even my old edge lit Sony x85e. The issue is always backlight bleed/blooming.

How a tv handles dark scenes and blacks is THE important factor in deciding.

MiniLED is still a new tech and lower tier brands like TCL and Hisense are known for inconsistent poor algorithms for dimming zones. Like more money more problems, more zones more difficulty haha

    • Samsung Qn90 and Sony x95 are your really only options for decent MiniLED. Otherwise Sony x90L (refined FALD) is probably better value than the best unrefined mini led from Hisense

  • Would pick TCL over Hisense. Also if using for gaming these lower tier tvs can disable local dimming when in game mode (dont have processor powerful enough for real time adjustments at 120fps probably). I know it was an issue on TCL c845 even though this was their top of the line tv (good for general viewing of streaming sites just not gaming)

    • I wouldnt, tcl still doesnt support 4:4:4 chroma @120hz which is utter garbage.

      • So which one do you recommend?
