nothing wrong with that, cheaper cables to just plug and leave plugged in

    • And?

  • Just as a general question - has anyone purchased an IR blaster recently that is still flashable with Tasmota?

A lot of the no name ones have moved to a 'Beken' chipset which Tasmota doesn't support, and although the OpenBeken project is there to try to replace Tasmota on these chips, it doesn't support IR blasters at the moment.

I'm keen to stick with Tasmota for Home Assistant - if anyone has some they want to offload let me know.

    • Home assistant supports the broad link plugin which works quite well.

    • I find the Broadlink Mini works better for IR Blaster over the Tuya IR Blaster

These are great for automating your aircons. I have a fleet of 6 of these for every aircon unit in the house. Perfect for automatically turning off all aircons everyday after everyone has left, in case the kids forgot. Works with HA.

    • Sorry to ask a question on an old comment but - can you use the Broadlink mini to automate your aircon to switch on, or switch to a certain temperature or fan speed, at a particular time? (I was thinking of getting a Sensibo, but this would be much more cost effective if it does the same thing…)
