      Correct. It says within 90 days of staying, but I got my CR approved 2 weeks after checking out.

      The payment was prepaid via Booking.com (instead of directly by the hotel and/or on check out), so might be why.
      I'm waiting on CR on another hotel also booked via Booking.com, but that was paid directly to the hotel on check out (so might not track as easily).

    Anyone knows if I can cancel the booking with the previous 6% cashback rate and rebook it via Cashrewards link to get the 12% rate?

      Yes I just did that to a few of my bookings. Make sure that your previous booking is still free to cancel, and to be safe make a new booking first before cancelling the old one.

    Prices are higher through Cashrewards, in 100% of my 2 week planned trip

    Shopback didn't have price jacking for the same trip

      Absolutely spot on. The prices are diff. Look! Also always check with the actual hotel direct. Regularly cheaper though won't always be a pay later cancel 1 min prior to check in affair.

    $3300 hotel booking via cash rewards link and around $2900 (which also gave $220 bonus credit) if just going direct through booking.com

    Cheaper to go without cash rewards. Make sure you price up the options with and without
    Cash rewards before you making the booking.

    I stopped bothering with cashback for hotels. Too much work figuring out if I actually make any savings or end up spending more.

    Was able to secure a $200 cashback. Checked prices with the hotel directly and other travel sites and there were no signs of price jacking. I'll take it.
