  • Hehe lets the war begins

  • Surprised how expensive USA SIMs are compared to Europe.
Normally a big simy d fan.

  • Is the SE Asia 6 countries new? Bought some "full country" ones in their September sale and don't remember seeing the (cheaper) 6 country ones as they'd suit me just fine.

  • I recommend against this company. I bought the south east Asia sim for Korea and Japan. Despite advertising 4G, we (myself and my party of 6, who also purchased this eSIM) only got LTE service, which is significantly slower. This was despite us having the latest phones, including an iPhone 15 pro and galaxy S22. This persisted across both Korea and Japan, in major cities including Busan, Seoul, Osaka and Tokyo. The result was poor, sluggish service that regularly hitched, paused and failed to load things, including important things like google maps and google translate.

The support is next to useless. They offered no useful advice, will close tickets if you don’t reply in a day (and further replies will not reopen the ticket) and I could not get a solution to the problem.

After 2 weeks, enough was enough and I purchased a local eSIM instead, and I urge you to do the same rather than deal with this useless vendor.

    • Interesting, we used some for a Singapore, Japan, Korea trip and had no issues …. ?

I've used these guys before and was happy with them, but I found Ubigi to be better value for Japan, their esims are a bit cheaper plus you can search for discount codes easily on reddit for like 30% off your first purchase, which brought my Japan sim to about $20 for 10gb, 30 days. I then posted my referral code and I get a 50% discount code for future purchases when someone uses it, code valid for 6 months too, so i'll save on my next trip as well.

What I love is that it is an app, and you can add credit whenever you need if you happen to run out whilst on holiday, you can add small amounts quite cheaply like 500mb, 1gb 3gb etc etc instantly which is great for those who run out near the end of a holiday. Eg with Simsdirect the smallest is 3gb for $15, whereas ubigi has 1 day use/ 500mb for $3.85 and 1gb 30 day for $6.16 (converted from USD to AUD, thus the weird number)

I had zero issues with speed or reception too, so will happily use it again. I would still compare between the two companies however, as Sims direct can be quite good value on sale and has better pricing on places like Thailand etc as Ubigi only has a general "asia" sim for Thailand, though convenient if travelling to various countries in the same trip, Ubigi is much better for Europe, so always compare!
