This is a different model so can’t price match?

    • I think it is the same model. Officeworks calls it CX55. JB calls it CX5 in the title, but CX55 everywhere else in the item description.

      • Yes, they are both model CX5501FEA-NA0267

It's under Specifications on the officeworks page.

        • 5% price beat??? avaliable?

  • Still doesn't quite meet Chromebook Plus specs. Are there many/any Plus models in Australia for a similar price?

    • Officeworks is showing some Asus Chromebook Plus models.

  • I understand this is a cheap laptop, but Chrome and 8GB on the same line?

Also can you install windows on these or upgrade RAM/SSD? Or everything is sealed for life like Apple?

Chrome doesn't need large amounts of RAM like Microsoft does, 8 GB should be fine - which I have - unless you're doing high intensive video editing or graphics work, but I don't use that. I have Microsft 365 downloaded on my 4 year old Chromebook. It is running a 8th gen Core m3 chip with 64GB hard drive. Unsure about this model about upgrading RAM/SSD, but I have never encounter a Chromebook that you have been able to upgrade. YMMV

      • Cool, thanks mate. Did a bit of googling, not easy to install windows either.

Ideally Chromebooks are for those who "live in the cloud". I use one for both work and leisure. This runs a full browser unlike say an Android tablet so you can run full extensions like UOrigin or Adblock etc. You can also run Linux apps and Android apps. I probably use Chrome 80%, Linux 10%, Android 10%. Will not be for everyone but the price, speed, ease of updates, security etc make these a great tool if they suit your needs. Running a Lenovo Flex 5i i5-11 gen, 8GB , 256GB, cost me around $500.
