My remote died and couldn't be fixed (middle/select button wouldn't work) and I've replaced it with this for $12

I'm interested in the Fire Stick also for another room rather than another GoogleTV, just to mix it up a little
Oh that would've been a good option for me… too late now though, I pulled the trigger on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. Fingers crossed it does the trick!
Grab the remote anyways and you can use the G.TV in another room? Can use the remote with the FireStick also if it dies.
Also has a mouse arrow on the replacement remote, great for side-loaded apps requiring touch to control.
I got both, Google TV does casting well (YouTube), Fire TV has better support for codecs (i.e TrueHD in Plex), and I also have Apple TV for everything else (TV+/Netflix/AirPlay). All support control from iPhone which makes a remoteless life easy.
Surely, there will be a USB-C powered update very soon.
Is the 2023 4k non max better then the first gen 4k max model.

I have had all 3 now.
I believe the 2023 non max to be better. It was able to connect to my 15 year old speakers through fibre optic somehow! Not much other difference though.

Does this now have the same amount of app support as the Google TV/Chromecast?
My Chromecast just died (well the remote did), and I am trying to decide whether to get a new Chromecast Google TV or switch to the Fire TV Stick 4K Max as I do have Alexa devices in the home.
