  • Das cheap!

  • Any deals on pram?

    • See what redsbaby offers for black friday

  • Anything for newborn to 8 years? My infasecure newborn to 8 years is seatbelt only, no isofix and unfortunately the Teslas don't support seatbelt only carseats.

    • So kids older than 4 can't ride in Teslas?

Does Tesla specifically say not to install carseats without ISOFIX which would be interesting? I thought conventional childseats can be installed into any rear car seat as long as it had seat belts and anchor points.

      • So basically pull the seatbelt out all the way and slowly release it, it usually locks it in and sounds like a ratchet while retracting. You cannot pull it anymore unless the seatbelt is almost all the way retracted. This feature is missing from Tesla seatbelts - it does not sound like a ratchet and you cannot lock it - essentially holding the carseat into place. Hence the carseat wobbles like crazy as I cannot tighten the seatbelt due to lack of this feature. At least my Model 3 doesn't have it not sure of the Model Y.

ISOFIX over 4 years is not permitted in australia as it requires the hard-line ISOFIX points (which are not allowed here).

you're best off sticking with an ISOFIX newborn to 4 year seat (like this one) and then going for a seatbelt booster when your child has outgrown the 0-4 year seat (which, despite the name, can still be used after 4 years if your child isn't taller than the top shoulder marker).

    • Haven't seen anything suggesting this in the owners manuals - which model tesla do you own?

Can use belt OR isofix in the outboard rear seats, and belt ONLY in the center rear seat…similar to many many other cars

  • will this fit on a uppababy vista ?

You are probably after a baby capsule to fit into the pram. This is just a car seat.

Make sure to check the pram adapters you require for your capsule to go onto the pram (they generally are an additional cost accessory).

      • Can’t I just use this? it’s for newborn to 4 ? I literally have no idea what i’m doing. FTM.

        • +2

It is better to just hire a capsule from baby bunting. Mine girl no longer fitted in the capsule after 4 months

why am i getting downvoted for asking questions? I’ve never had children, i’ve never looked at a baby store. I’ve never researched. Im so new to this. I’m just asking because i thought you guys would be knowledgeable and be able to help.

        • Car seats like this won't fit In a pram, even though they can fit a newborn.

If you want something you can put a newborn in that you can easily move between a car and a pram, you want a baby capsule. These will fit your Vista if you buy the optional adapters.

They advertise the seats as being able to accommodate newborns because some people may not have a capsule handy.

I'd recommend you buy a baby capsule, and after six months to a year when it becomes too small, you can transfer the baby to a convertible seat like this. Ie buy both!

No, it's a car seat not a capsule.
