$260 is from KL to London.. You still have to pay the fare from AU to KL. Still works out pretty cheap, although I can't seem to find a KL - LDN fare for less than $640 return inc. tax.

Look for the 499MYR ($210 AUD) one-way fares, they seem to be the sale ones and they're scattered across the sale period for flights in both directions.

  • It made me think of this:
    http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24709006-662,…

However the travel times are before Nov 2009, so you should be unaffected.

  • I've had problems trying to check flying times. If you click previous day or next day when attempting to make a booking the site has an embolism!!! Anyone else having this problem?

  • Awesome - I'm already in KL March Next year thanks to AirAsia's other deals.

    Just tallied up the costs of flights I've accumulated from Air Asia;

    Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur
    Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu
    Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong
    $370 per person!!!!

I'm seriously considering this London deal!!

Thanks for the heads up ozbargain.

  • This airline isn't the best. But at this price, it's a steal

    • Depends on what you mean by best. In terms of innovation and price they certainly are!

    • I'd be interested to know what you mean by this… having flown with them I would say their service levels are much higher than the budget airlines here… and all the additional extras, tho additional charges are CHEAP.

      15kg baggage = $8
      international meal = $7
comfort pack including blanket, eye mask and neck pillow = $7
dvd/movie player (for duration of trip) = $9
drinks on board were the equiv of the $AUD you would pay.. but in MYR. so a glass of wine was around $3, same with beer, hot milo around $1.

      • I flew with them recently from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne.

At the end of the flight, they fumigated the plane with passengers still on board. They did this with spray cans, going up and down the aisles twice on each side.

During the flight, I asked for some snacks. They said they will be serving food in 15 minutes.

I don't have a problem with booking another flight with them. I paid $270 (includes 20kg baggage) to go from Kuala Lumpur to London in March.

I just hope they don't go bankrupt like Oasis Hong Kong did. The price paid is worth the risk.

  • The cheapest i could find from the 11th onwards was 876.00 MYR which is about $373. Where is this $260 coming from? That was before all the backage fees etc..

    never mind :)

  • anybody know the safety of this airline? I don't want it to be like another Indonesian Garuda airline where accidents happens a lot.

    • I would just be careful. They have had a string of incidents ranging from Tailstrikes(most covered up), a written off aircraft, and two landings that forced 2 Airbus A320's to be grounded for 2months. Also, an Indonesian AirAsia aircraft has had a landing that put the aircraft on the side of the runway, belly down(written off). TRAINING of flight crew is the problem within airasia, and with these new aircraft, I do worry.

As part of a Malaysian Aviation forum, I have this inside information from people who work for AirAsia.

I wouldn't book with them, good luck to those who do.
