[VIC] Free 50pc Disposable Masks (Past Expiry Date) @ Circonomy Melbourne

180

Not sure what the expiry means for a pack of masks but it's free and while you're here there are some minor deals to be held in this outlet store as well.

Looks like the kind of store that takes old stock but new items from various brands.

  • Breaking news : man wears expired mask and causes major outbreak, public execution this weekend for all to watch him pay for his unforgivable crime.

Is it "best before" or "use by"? Should still be good if it's just "best before", might just not taste as nice. /s

Visit your local public hospital's emergency department. Masks are free there too.

    • -1

Not suggesting people steal them from the hospital. But with the current COVID situation almost no-one else is requiring you to wear a mask, so few people are, but hospitals are happy to provide them free at the entrance to anyone who hasn't hasn't got one with them.

All 'past expiry date' 'past best before' 'past use by' so-called freebie, actually disposable stuff giveaway should be banned nationwide. Crooks trying to dispose all their leftover junks. If they weren't past expiry let alone free give away do not let you touch them.
There is no free or unconditional thing in this world, except mother's love which is arguable.

      Unintelligible nonsense.

A circular economy branded company selling disposable masks?

  • Best before goods can still be eaten by the quality would have got worst. Use by foods shouldn't be used.

Saying that is goods covered under the TGA can apply got an extension. Normally the sponsor would have kept a supply of each batch and they need to demonstrate the product still meets the requirements following post use by date.

Sponsors are responsible for testing and ensure the product meets TGA requirements to comply with surgical mask requirements. Many surgical mask supply have actually dropped their sponsorship because this actually cost money.

  • Victorians aren't so dumb that they would wear masks that don't work!!!

  • Why the hell are they selling Officeworks home brand products?

    • It's stated in the post, and hardly rocket science… Because Officeworks want to get rid of a bulk-lot of that item.

      • Yeah, and they'd sell them at officeworks for discount prices.

        • Officeworks have limited shelf-space, they don't necessarily want to take that up with a load of stock that may or may not take weeks/months to shift that they no longer want.

That's how all these reject shops work - again, it's not rocket science!

          • @callum9999: Sure bro.

            A) It's not stated in the post.
            B) It's suss as (profanity). Your "It's not rocket science" comment is continual bullshit.

            • @Chmmr: A) "Looks like the kind of store that takes old stock but new items from various brands."

              B) It's not remotely suss, it's completely normal. My rocket science comment was a bit mean (I misread your first post so my apologies), but I'm genuinely confused why you're finding this concept so hard to understand. Officeworks discontinued the product, they don't want to destroy the stock or waste space running a clearance section in the store so they offload them to a clearance store. This is not a new thing - it's been happening for decades.

I've never been to this store, but regularly visit a similar one focussed on groceries (Cheaper Buy Miles). It's the exact same concept.

  • Presumably they break down over time (cheap, disposable) so you presumably would be breathing in much more microplastics from these.

Whoever @ Circonomy Melbourne thought it was a great idea to give away Expired masks should have their skull irreparably damaged review their understanding of 'Logic' based decisions

    • -1

Sounds like your skull is already irreparably damaged…

      • Well… what do we have here? A Keyboard Warrior in the wild, nice…

        • -1

What sane adult talks like that… Utterly pathetic.

          • @callum9999: That's hilarious coming from someone that starts fights on OzBargain, based on your comment history….. Now that's pathetic!

            Go touch some grass, champ.
