I’ve been watching for a discount on a pruning saw for a while since I lost my ARS folding saw obtained from the deals from Amazon Japan earlier this year (I think I accidentally threw it out while moving house 😭).

This Corona tools pruning saw has got good reviews and seemed one of the better options in terms of price point available on Amazon. 29% discount was enough for me to give it a go!

    I guess inflation at play. It does go on sale every now and then. But hasn’t been below 35 since last Black Friday so that’s why I decided to buy.

  Is Corona Tools better than Fiskars?
  Bunnings have a Fiskars 2 position "powertooth" folding saw at $31.95

    Fiskars and Corona both have a fairly good reputation. A lot of the reddit bushcraft and tools pages recommend Corona saws for their price point.

    I think this Fiskars saw would be more comparable to the Corona I posted.

    The $6 cheapie from Bunnings wouldn’t be worth it in my eyes, I’ve had ones like that before and then get frustratingly blunt very quickly.

  How does this compare to other branded pruning saws, around this price point, from bunnings/mitre 10? Like cyclone?

    I can’t comment on the cyclone and how it compares to the Corona as I haven’t used both. I just did a fair bit of reading through different subreddits about saws and the Corona was mentioned quite a bit. It might be because it’s a brand commonly sold in the USA, although manufacturing is now in Mexico
