Random Access Memory is too high… 4GB would be sufficient.

Why pay for ram when you can just download it?

lol even my 2014 mbp has 16gb ram

640KB should be enough for everyone.

Might be sold out by then

this is 3 years old. should be well below 1k

    • Eh, this way it retains its resale value. Even after 3 years you can resell these for quite a lot thanks to it being the go to for freshmen uni students and the most popular device on campuses.

Everyone talks about the ram, which is valid. But the storage is also shit. At 256gb, it’s basically a glorified Chromebook.

Also it cost $1600 3 years ago when it was released at full price. Pretty small discount for 3 year old hardware.

  • Tried to pricematch the jbhifi price of $1,247 and even that one they said they can’t match it. Max they can go is 10% or something i was told. Not sure if you could price match the costco one.

    • Allegedly the 10% price match is the maximum any Apple Store (retail/online) will do - it has been their policy for years.

      So at $1499 - 10% = $1349.10 - $240 = $1109.10 which is still some ways away from sub $1k.

      • May I know how we can do price match online? If we can do it online it saves a trip to the apple retail store at least. Thanks.

Any deal for 16gb? Do you guys reckon for year 5 student 8gb is sufficient?

    • +4

IMO 8gb is fine for a year 5 student using Microsoft Word and Roblox etc

I don’t think the Apple Store price matches Costco at all

    Not a bargain.

If you're buying an 8GB laptop, the Acer Swift Go with an OLED panel is far better value for money.

    • That means you have to buy an Acer product lol.

  • Wow .. really still hold up its price well. Bought mine few months after released for $1329.00 and certainly cheaper than education price of $1349

  • Looks like ed store duped old stock. All shine, single monitor out only.
