  • no trying to be impolite but is ABB in general better than other providers, such as Superloop? they offer 1Gig at $99 for first 6 mon and then $109 after that, seems better deal

    • +1

ABB is brilliant IMHO. Pretty reliable and the best thing is an AUSSIE call centre (with fairly short wait times) if you have issues!!

  • Trying to upgrade but it's not asking for a code. Where do I put it in?

    • If you go into your MyAussie account online, click on "Home" on the left. Then look under "Current Plan" and you'll see your plan. Click the arrow on the far right of your plan and it will show you the other options. Click on the next option above your existing plan, and it should then have a "Promo Code" box appear underneath. You need to select a higher plan to get the promo.

    • There should be a promo code box where you can apply it.

  • I upgraded an existing account to 100/20, i applied coupon so that its $85 instead of $95.

However i got the email saying that ive upgraded my plan and its $95.

Will i get charged $95? I applied the coipon before clicking 'continue' on the plan change page.

    • Seems to be the same for me too. I've gone from 50/20 to 100/20 using the code FASTUPBF.

I'm assuming it shows as $95 but when the invoice is issued it will include the $10 off making it $85.

      • +1

Can confirm. Invoice shows $95 but a -$10 discount bringing it to $85 for 12 months.

  • Just thought I'd share my experience. Might answer someone else's Qs regarding upgrading as an existing customer.

I upgraded from the previous 250/25 deal (I am 4 months in) that was $109 for the first 6 months, to now instead the 1000/50 deal that is also $109 for the first 12 months.
I had a chat with support while I was doing it, and can confirm you can't 'side-grade' and the plan change has to be an actual upgrade in speed (it's also in the T&Cs).
They weren't sure it would apply as I already had a code assigned to my account, but it did in fact override the existing deal (confirmed that on here, thanks all!)

The page did tell me when I changed plans, and inserted the code, that I was changing from 250/25 $129 to 1000/50 $129 (it didn't have the discount in the transaction if you get me).
I confirmed with support that they can indeed see the code on their end, and the system is set to charge me $109 a month, for the next 12 months.

    All is good!

  • I bought this as a new user yesterday but didn't get any email when it will be done. I am changing the current provider to Aussie 1000/42 Ultra plan. My home address qualify for 0$ fiber upgrade, will it be done automatically and if yes when. I am with telstra opticomm now.

  • I love Aussie. Been with them for years (after previously using various other providers). Speaking with an Aussie call centre is brilliant. They've always been able to fix issues promptly. No lock-in contracts is also fantastic.

As an FYI, only a month ago I upgraded to FTTP and got the 250/25 unlimited plan for $119pm for 6 months, then reverts to $129pm (which was the promo then applicable). I just got a pamphlet in my letterbox re the current BF promo. I went into MyAussie to look at the plan change options and they now have the 1000/50 plan for $129pm. I added the SUPERBF code and got $20 off for 12 months, so am paying $109pm for 1000/50.

  • Upgraded this morning for a trial of higher speed to my 50/20 to 100/20 it says i won't achieve those speeds on download but more than i currently have and will cost the same anyway so worth a shot for the same price on my existing plan. However says $95 not $85 even after code was applied (and worked as applied) pdf and email and on account still show $95.hopefully im not charged the full amount.

    • Same thing for me too.
I've just gone from 50/20 to 100/20 as it's the same price when using the code.

Got an email saying it will be $95, however I'm assuming the invoice will include $10 off making it $85.

      • +1

Yes just did this last week. Invoice says $95 -$10. All good

  • When is the advisable date to switch ISPs?

  • Upgraded from 50/20 to 100/20 last night (last day of bill cycle), same experience as others and was unsure if discount worked successfully.
Can confirm that -$10 discount was applied to next bill.

    Pasted from Tax Invoice:
    $10 off for 12 months (22 Nov 2023 -> 21 Dec 2023)

  • im on 1000/50 with aussie alreay is there a way to get this discount?

    • +2

They said NO, even I got it just from 21 days ago and my last bill still $129

      • After being with AussieBB for nearly 3 years (on a 1000/50 connection for nearly a year), am strongly considering trying another company. Aussie doesn't seem to give a stuff if they retain current customers or not.

Superloop is cheaper and have read they're decent enough, might give them a go.

  • Yeah it's crazy. I'm going to be paying the same price for 100/20 as i was just paying for 50/20 the $85. Even though my FTTN line is only capable of 53Mbps. But what the heck it's going to be the same price. And then that puts me in line for the free FTTP upgrade coming up in a few months.

  • Any can share if i can use my optus modem for 1000/50

  • Internet used to be $39/month and now it is going $100/month and labor & liberal want to reduce inflation .. lol 😂

    • I don't remember paying $39/month even for ADSL2+. I swear it was more around $80 (which included the phone line rental fee).

      • +1

i paid that so i must be getting very old … lol 😂

        • Well either you had naked ADSL2+ (with a very low data allowance) because there's no way that was only $39 per month and that's it. For crying out loud the phone line rental fee was about $30 alone. Back in the days of the original ADSL and then ADSL2+ you also had to pay the phone line rental fee which was about $30 unless you had naked ADSL2+. Because otherwise you couldn't get the internet without also paying the phone line rental fee. Got to factor it into the total price. I should know as i had the original ADSL back in the early 90's, and then ADSL2+, and before that dialup internet starting in the mid 90's. But even with dialup internet you still had to pay the phone line rental fee just to access the internet, so that cost was also factored in.

          • @hollykryten: lol don't justify to me … that you are right … ! go search for ozbargain deals and you find some … it existed … !

labor is responsible for recent price rise in NBN because their brain don't think that limited usage of 12MBPS and 25MBPS and supporting higher speed at high cost is not going to help working class and struggling mum and dad… it is dumb policy that NBN recently approved and that is why prices gone up for the basic tiers … !

some may need 600mbps internet but i was happy with even 12mps and now with 25mbps… i don't need more speed and i shouldn't be paying more but due to change in recent pricing structure price for base tiers are going up and labor is fully responsible for it to make it hard for struggling families … !!!!

  • $300 new connection fee?!

    WTF

    • +1

that is an NBNCO cost, not an ISP cost

  • What is the discounted rate time for returning customers. Three six or twelve months?

  • +1

Anyone having luck with the SUPERBF code? getting "Promo/referral code invalid" error when entering in the promo code

  • +1

Can't seem to upgrade to 100/20, says there's a pending plan change. Is it just me? Is there another to upgrade with the code?

    Existing user in 50/20 plan

    • Same

    • I have the same :-\

I rang them about it and they said it's because there is a "behind the scenes" plan change already in flight to move my plan to new pricing at my next rollover which is a week or so away.

  • So does this mean that post Dec 1, plans of 100/20 or more will perform more or less the same, regardless of retailer?

  • +1

SUPERBF code dosent work for me when I tried to sign up for the 250/25 plan. Called ABB (kept waiting online for a bit, disconnected and then called back, another wait and then told to just sign up without the code and call back within 3 days to get the code applied. Hmm … a bit dicey.

  • +1

Tried to upgrade, FASTUPBF applies, but then get an error sayng'there is already a pending change" when there is no change I've made to subscription in months. Just me?

    • +1

Not just you, the same issue has just happened to me. Definitely didn't schedule any changes except this current deal.

      I'll have to call them.

EDIT: Called them and got it sorted.

  • Has anyone churned from Leaptel? my 12 months has expired and I’ve only just noticed that you have to give 30 days notice, sigh.

  • I was a bit disappointed though when I reached out and asked for the immediate change to 250/25 (from 50/20) and to have the $40 waived which will be additional charge as my plan reset date is on the 4th of each month.

$40 dollars for extra week of faster speed is a rip off.
I asked and was turned down unfortunately. If it was $10 for the immediate changeover as there is only one week left in the calendar month, then probably will go ahead.

(Been with ABB for 5+ years and I agree it’s been good, but not really doing enough of long term customers with multiple services with them )

Now thinking of porting out my two services to other provider who are cheaper at those speed.

If anyone else recommend any isp, please let me know. Thanks

  • Broken deal for existing customers who already have pending plan changes as part of the NBN price changes. My 100/20 plan is scheduled to come down from $99 to $95 but I'd like to upgrade to 1000/50.

I can apply the code just fine, but when I proceed with the plan change it tells me there is already a scheduled plan change - not until Dec 16th. I didn't schedule the change, AussieBB did this as part of the price changes, but now I can't seem to make use of this deal. The offer ends before my scheduled plan change.

What gives? Surely this will affect lots of people who are getting the new plan changes automatically?

    • Called support and they managed to change me onto 1000/50 and said they applied the coupon. The old price of $149 is still showing on the pending plan change but they said it would be $129/month + $20 off coupon when it swaps over. Will see what happens, hopefully it is all automatic from here.

  • Hi All - Just checking that I am not missing anything - these prices are only good if looking for 250/25 or higher right? I am on Mate and it seems already paying the $85 above - I have actually been hunting for cheaper as was playing $59 up until recently.

  • FYI : despite entering the discount for a speed upgrade - the invoice has no discount and I'm to be charged the full amount. Incompetent.

Edit : at least call was pleasant and easily sorted!

    • When you were selecting the plan. Did you remember to press the apply button after entering the promo code?. And then it should have said some thing like "promo code applied". Just entering the promo code into the promo code box doesn't actually apply the code onto the account. Got to apply the code before making the plan change request or else there will be no discount.

      • Thanks, can’t remember honestly. But usually I’m no mug to these things, but you never know.

  • Does anyone know if this can be stacked with $50 off referral?

  • When does this offer end?

    • 11:59pm tonight

  • I've been trying to upgrade on MyAussie portal but it keeps saying there's already a pending plan change (which is their version of the current plan price reduction)

  • Anyone know if you can sign up for this but not start immediately? Hoping to get to the end of (or at least nearer to the end of) a Superloop billing cycle before jumping ship from them.

  • I’ve got a question if anyone can answer.
I’ve been with Optus for nearly 3 years and in my current house I’ve got HFC and 1000/50 connection, I usually get 600-700Mbps on a regular basis.
But I’ve been meaning to switch to another provider cause of the cheaper plans on offer.
Now the issue is when I enter my address in Aussie broadband, I don’t get any faster plans above 100 Mbps, whereas a year back it did show 250 and 1000 Mbps plans.
Has anyone seen this happen with their addresses as well? Can HFC high speed plan allocation exhaust in a region? In case yes then, is there something one can do?

  • I randomly did a speed test tonight and found it was hitting 100, my old speeds prior to upgrading on this deal. I logged in the portal and found I was put back on my old plan. I hit up live chat and said there was an error after the pricing changes… so make sure you double check your speeds and plan or else you might be back on your old plan without knowing it.

  • Can someone do a ping test on singapore IP/servers? Facing abnormally high ping with Future Broadband :( .

  • I churned from ABB (who charged me $109) to Leaptel when they had the good prices a year ago but now my Leaptel 100/40 plan has just gone up to $99.95 I'm considering changing back to ABB who are very similar but seem to have slightly better stability in the connection (and $60/year cheaper).

ABB was consistently great, by far my number one ISP. Leaptel is excellent except every now and then where I find the speeds slowly drop over a few days until I get disconnects, then it suddenly comes good again for a couple of months. Also Gmail keeps telling me they're sending emails via an insecure connection.

Edit: I checked Launtel who look good, however for my 100/40 plan they're are about $80/year more expensive than Leaptel and $140/year more expensive than ABB. If Leaptel hadn't increased in price I'd definitely stay with them but as it stands I think I'll churn to ABB.

  • Existing customer here, gotta say thinking of leaving them. Performance of service really gone backwards. For instance tried to switch to this plan @99 for 250… Double checked I was eligible and that would be the price twice… So they sent invoice already and said now charging me 119. All mention of the 99 or 20 rebate to make it 99 gone…

  • anyone else get the $16 plan change fee?
