  • Interesting, are they any good?

  • What about a decent GPS one using satellites?

Expect to pay a lot more. I've just ordered this one so I'll see how it goes. I've heard great things about them.

      • Yeah with this one you have to setup the parameters for it. The GPS one uses satellites, less work setting up

Need the 1000sq model for our property but at $1299 already my eyes start to wander to the ecovacs goat G1, twice the price but it runs like a good robot vac in mapped out straight lines which seems far more efficient, anybody have one of these on a larger lawn and report how good it's been?

Perfect timing because I'm very close to dropping $1000 on a new self propelled mower because the old small victa just doesnt make it easy on our new property

    • I looked at the G1 but can't justify that price when something like this still gets the job done.

  • So it looks like they don't catch the clippings?

    • +1

      They mulch
The idea is they take so little off each time because they are mowing every day that the clippings can just mulch down naturally like a good mulching mower

      • Ah cheers thanks for explaining

    • They mow multiple times a week so they are only taking a little off at a time. Because it's so fine there is no clippings.

  • This has been price matched by Amazon ($999.00) here: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07WN2NGMX?smid=ACKH1RXH6FZ54&r…
I got it from them as I am more confident with their returns policy (plus free return shipping) if things get tasty (hopefully not though)…

    Purchased at Amazon :-)

    • Thanks for sharing, did the same via amazon!

I bought the 149e model back in July 2022 for $1200. It has been working flawlessly since then and my lawns always look great. Takes some time and tuning to set up well. If you have acute angles on the outer edges of your lawn it has a tendancy to dig a hole where the wheels spin as it tries to turn. I just lay chicken wire in those spots and the grass grows through it, you never see the wire again. If i wasnt a tight ar$e, I'd flex for a decent GPS 4WD version, but for the money this cost, no complaints. If it fails at some point, I will upgrade.

As a bonus, there are absolutely zero weeds left in my lawn. They dont seem to like the frequent mowing. The tiny clippings act as fertiliser and are not like the clippings you get from a conventional mower. After the initail couple of mows, you will never even see a clipping again. Pretty much silent, so you can mow at night if you want. Just watch out for kids toys and dog bones. Random mowing pattern works fine and there are never any missed spots.

    • What do you do for the nature strip?

      • Battle axe block, so no nature strip. I did purchase a second base station for the front lawn, so thats a definate consideration if your lawns are not connected in such a way that the mower can get between them.

    • Do you leave it out 24/7? It needs a power outlet outside (which I don't have)?

      • Yes and Yes. Has a pin code lock, so will turn into a paper weight if someone pinches it.

Apparently, there is a new model coming that doesn't need the boundary wire but more than double the price.

    • Yeah, I really wanted one that didn't need the boundry wire but knew it would be a massive price hike.
Can't really do it whilst the RBA is still destroying our bank accounts…

Also, $980.66 on Ebay with Ebay Plus link
Accessories are also on discount, for example the ACS module for $212.10.

  • Good find! That's way cheaper than what the MoeBot goes for and this is much better.

Got the 1,000m2 version for $1,199

    • Yes. I'm excited for when mine is delivered! I hate mowing
