This is TomTom not Garmin :-)

BTW i have redeemed 2 Garmin life time redemptions (for my brother & dad) without a problem. Scanned copy of receipt and photo of the serial number is all that was required. Turn around was less than a week.

    • My Redemption worked fine last time for the Nuvi 50. Got my authorisation code within 5 days. I just quite literally photographed the receipt, barcode and serial codes and uploaded to them. Was easy as..

You signed up to rant about another brands redemption process? What the??

    • lol u fail!

  • Is this a good deal? or wait for Christmas?

    • You might want get this for Christmas. I haven't received the Garmin from their previous deal yet.

  • went into jb the other day and the nuvi50 price went up to $159 ?!?!

…also got my redemption code but havent used it yet, as i already updated maps and language when i first got it…do we just enter the code like every year or every update? …cheers

  • Unless its changed since the other day, the 160 isn't participating in the lifetime maps, only the 180

    Edit- its now participating http://www.tomtompromotion.com/maps/AU

    • You were right though - it wasn't on the list last week. A shame, because from memory it was less than $100 at DSE

  • Will the bluetooth pairing work with a iPhone? My wife's navman bit the dust an I'm looking for a replacement.

    **EDIT
Never mind, I posted the Q lazily. According to their site, it is compatible for calls only, not SMS.

      Surely you jest…

Resistive screen FTW! I can use it wearing my awesome leather driving gloves. :)

  • I bought a TomTom Go Live 820 on Friday for $198 from JB, I think it's a better deal with bluetooth and live map updates etc. Link here : http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps-navigation/gps/tomtom…

    • This VIA 160 has bluetooth, voice control etc. is it only the live traffic which is different really?
