  • plus delivery at $29.

13" at 1149+29=1178 aint bad, but no TRS available as these are grey.
I picked up same 13" for $1225 (Aus warranty) but with TRS refund will bring this to 1225-135=1090

    • What's TRS? GST?

      • tax refund

        • TRS = Tourist Refund Scheme (effectively duty free shopping)
          http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4646.asp

grey = grey import, ie, not Australian Stock and usually warranty not covered by local Apple.
In this case Topbuy would likely provide the warranty…. could mean Topbuy ship it back overseas for repair.

    • How did you get $135 GST from $1,225? Wouldn't the GST component be $111.36?

How would you go about applying the TRS without coincidentally going overseas in the next 30 days? Or is this just a nice addition if you happen to be leaving for a holiday sometime soon?

      • i bought the 24-70 before i went to NZ. i bought the rmbp before i went to CN. all happened in this august and september.

      • +1

Yes you would need to be travelling overseas in the next 30 days. Also not sure how he got $135 from $1225 since they only refund the GST

        • yep, my error. too many numbers going on, plus I bought another item on same invoice, so I get GST back on that too. got confused trying to isolate the MacAir bit.
Anyway, it wont be 135, it is more like $111 but still $50 cheaper than Topbuy.
(and yes, I'm off o/s in the next 30 days)

edit: forgot to add that I paid $1200 of it with 5% discounted gift cards, so there's another $60 saving - now >$100 cheaper than Topbuy.

          so:
          $1350 retail price
haggled 10% to $1225 (of which GST is $111)
paid $1225 with gift cards @ 5% discount (saved $60)
so will end up costing me $1225-60-111= $1054

    • same! 13in, 128GB SSD, HD4000 @ Good Guys for $1229 then take away the TRS, great bargain I'd say! love it!

  • Is it GST inclusive? AU stock?

Liam Neeson making out with wolves.

  • Check out http://www.macpricesaustralia.com.au/mac/macbook-air/cheapes… for other options also. Noticed Topbuy wasnt listed there though.

    Apple warranty is universal. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=884216

Also good to refer to this site on when is the best time to purchase an Apple product: http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ - According to that page, MacBook Airs are in mid-product cycle, so probably no new models for 6 months.

  • Is this the cheapest Mac Air now?
