Aussie developer. "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam. Historical low was $13.14.

From the Steam page:
Travel 2,000 years into the past and relive the final days of a cursed Roman city, where if one person sins, everyone dies. Combat is an option, but violence will only get you so far. Only by questioning an intertwined community of colourful characters, cleverly exploiting the time loop, and making difficult moral choices can you hope to solve this epic mystery. Here, your decisions matter. The fate of the city is in your hands.

  • Explore an open-world ancient Roman city with historically authentic art, architecture, costumes and customs
  • Investigate a gripping, non-linear mystery with multiple endings
  • Become entwined in the lives of richly detailed, deeply interactive characters
  • Grapple with moral dilemmas which have life-and-death consequences
  • Play as whoever you want, by choosing your character’s gender, origin and backstory
  • Solve problems with reason, charm, bribery, intimidation, violence, or by cleverly exploiting the time-loop

Honestly one of my favourite games! An amazing story :)

Great game. Don't want to be that guy, but if you want to support an Australian developer don't buy it from CDKeys. If you don't care if your money doesn't necessarily go to the developer then go ahead.

    • The keys are obtained from credit card fraud. The fraudsters use stolen credit cards to purchase keys and then do charge backs. It can cost the developers a lot of money as the charge backs are 50 percent of the buying price of the game straight out of their account.

      • I mean, sure they could be keys from bundles or whatever and it is possible that some of the money the developers should be getting could still be getting to them, but I thought it should be pointed out when "Aussie Developer" are the first words in the post. If you are going to use that as a selling point to get people to buy the game with this deal then you really need to be very transparent with grey market sellers.

You bring up a very important point about chargebacks. It can cost the developers a lot of money. I've seen developers ask people to pirate the game rather than buy from grey market sellers due to this.

        • Yes. I just confirmed that it's actually the entire amount of the game purchased on the stolen card and an additional 50 percent as a "fee" from the bank for processing the charge back. It's a lose-lose for the developers.

I'm guessing a lot of these were sold on from the Humble Bundle deal that had this in it a couple of weeks ago

        • Yeah, I'm thinking that too.

      • You have no proof of that.

      • Cool story bro.

CDKeys have been around for over 20 years - whilst there are sellers of stolen keys (which end up being removed from your Steam account at a later date) CDKeys is not one of them.

        • Prove to me that CD keys are not running the same operation as G2A.

          • @Steven Reece Lewis: I just did - they've been operating for over 20 years, and their reputation remains intact.

If they were routinely selling stolen keys, you'd be able to find plenty of stories of key revocation after redemption, just like you can for the less reputable sellers. But other than a few isolated incidents, this simply is not the case.

  • Actually just finished playing this last night and I enjoyed it very much, definitely scratched that Outer Wilds itch I had been feeling. Would recommend!

CDkeys. No way. Fraud fraud fraud. The quick way to tell is that if the seller isn't listed on isthereanydeal then they are not legit.

    • That's actually from some seller called FrenzaGaming. I haven't got a clue who or what that seller is. It's an unknown.

  • CDkeys is not the best deal.

$1.58 AUD + payment fee with promo code ALLKEYSHOP12 from HRK https://www.hrkgame.com/en/games/product/the-forgotten-city-…

$2.21 AUD + payment fee from Instant Gaming https://www.instant-gaming.com/en/6002-buy-the-forgotten-cit…

I just bought it from HRK. With the promo discount code and payment fee it was $2.40 AUD on the bank statement. So good deal. Every bit of savings helps when on the dole.

    Activated fine on Steam.

  • Got it, thanks

I don't know why any one would neg a good deal for. Do they seriously believe that these are from stolen keys just because some web sites say so?. The same web sites which make statements without offering any proof of the matter. And some of these people just lap it up believing whatever those web sites say.
