My brother was telling me about the supposed prestige of Peugeot salt and pepper grinders and their renowned mechanism, so I decided to check out the website to see what the hell he was talking about. Wouldn't you know, they're on sale.

Plenty of other sizes and prices available (individual items don't show the discount, but you can see them listed in that link).

These are great, and make a good gift. The smaller ones I believe are the better.

However according to my wife who is french, these aren't the same legendary 'buy it for life' as they used to be.

      That's NOT what she said

      • Don’t quote OP’s mum, that is just bad manners

What really grinds my gears is the service costs of these

I'll keep my 2$ pepper in it

  • I get the feeling you would get diminishing returns as you move from your $3 peppercorn grinder to your $30 peppercorn grinder to your $230 peppercorn grinder. But then again, if you own a harbour-side mansion in Sydney, I guess it would look a bit funny if you pull out your $3 plastic Saxa peppercorn grinder during a fancy dinner party.

    • I once went inside the multi-million dollar house of a well-to-do Melbourne lawyer. She had an all plastic Kmart kettle. Boggles the mind.

  • This brand wears out quickly … i no longer buy them
