Microsoft really fumbled the bag with the expansion card route..

    • MS acting like they are first in the sales race.

    • do you really think they fumbled or do you think it was deliberate?

  • Has anyone tried the alternative DIY card where you add the SSD yourself?

Doesn't the cost of that specific SSD (since it only works with one) make it almost not worthwhile?

    • i did a bit of research into it, doesn't look like it works any more.

  • How much of a hard drive does Xbox series x have built in?
And can you use certain hard drives or recommend to use others.
I have a hard drive plugged into my Xbox one can’t remember they brand any reason I can’t use it as I will be upgrading from Xbox one to c

    • How much of a hard drive does Xbox series x have built in?

      1TB SSD

And can you use certain hard drives or recommend to use others.

You can use any HDD/SDD to store games, and play non-XB Series enhanced games (although apparently a handful will work). You would need one of these cards to play most XB Series enhanced games.

      • I have a Seagate 2tb back up portable external drive I use with current Xbox one from many years ago so i could probably use this?

I own a new wd elements basic storage drive which I’m planning to use for something else but an option

And got two of these a very long time ago going cheap from target no idea how good they are or what exactly I can do with them.

        Seagate wireless 500gb.

To be honest my drive was set up when I had my Xbox one years back and I have no idea what’s on it or if anything, it’s not something I have checked or looked at.
Maybe my Xbox one drive is not full again never checked.
I used to use game pass ultimate a lot and have a ton of physical games so really what do I need it for? Buying digital games which i very rarely do what else?
Not sure what you mean by enhanced games.

I have mostly Xbox one games and maybe the odd few Xbox x only games and the ones that say Xbox one/Xbox x.
I assume the Xbox x only ones will be better versions to suit xbox x and maybe the Xbox one games even still playable but maybe not as nice to look at etc.

Currently yes and I still watch 3d movies on tv where the Xbox one is set up but in thinking of taking the 4K tv out of bedroom and setting up the Xbox x with the 4K tv rather than the 3d tv and stick the 3d tv in bedroom.

I assume it will work better on a 4K tv, or main lounge has better 4K and is supposed to be better for games but this Xbox x is not going to be set up on that 4K tv.

By sounds probably don’t need extra storage if I buy physical mostly?

    Just buy another XBOX

    • when they are at full RRP its almost worth it!

    • Exactly what I did. Got it on the eBay deal. $500 for one with an extra controller. So not that much more for we console

  • 2 tb on an all time low as well, 394

Jesus, does Microsoft think they’re still in the Xbox 360 era when they charge exorbitant price for their hard drive?
