Plus $200 cashback, seems too good to be true!

    • +4

Sony reject the cashback if you use the 10% new user voucher. Both CR/SB.

Even cheaper than my X90H 75"!

  • How would picture quality compare to my current LG 86' UHD Nano Cell 86NANO75TPA?

    • +4

I mean the x90L is basically one of the top 3 non OLED TVs

      • Genuine question, Is one of those the Sony x95K? if not what are the two models?

        • +2

Sorry I should say in terms of the current gen, I think of X95K to be superseded by X95L, but yes X95K would be better than X90L. The other 2 I was thinking was X95L and QN90C.

  • What a price, should have waited. Bought TCL 85" C745 for $1860.

    • Link please?

      • Bought at Appliances Online during click frenzy price matching retra vision, stack with TCL $200 cash back at the time.

End up being $1866 after cashback

Damn, I just bought the c845 this afternoon!

    • +1

      Enjoy it!

    • -2

      Same, but I wouldn't spend $2,500 on a TV with a 12 month warranty

    • I hope you don’t watch much sport

      • Why sport? @eccaz

    • -2

Still think the TCL c845 is better overall

      • No, even if you look at just onr category of comparison the Sony x90 and x95 are superior, not even an argument. Just have a search about TCLs lack of local dimming in gaming mode…

Also out of the box more chance of Sony being properly calibrated colour wise compared to a lot of other brands especially TCL. Obviously with calibration even Sony is better but most people dont have expensive calibration tools so stick with Sony

  • cashback probably won't track with the welcome promo code right

  • oh, i just bought the samsung 85qn85c this afternoon for 2650, is this a better deal?

  • I ordered the 75 inch a month ago but not delivered yet from JB do you reckon I could change now?

  • +1

    This or TCL C845?

Can I get JB or the good guys to price match?

    • JB already price matching $2883, I doubt they will price match with the 10% discount code

      • Jb gave me the 10% off but had to get the extended warranty

        • Details please? How did you ask for it? Did you have to show the price on your phone? How much was extended warranty? What was the total?

          • +1

            @fufufu: 2983 was the total
            2594.70 tv
389.20 warranty - 3 years so total of 6 years

          • +1

@fufufu: JB said no to me via web chat. Good Guys said yes, just showed screenshot. In person they probably want the live web page showing the 10% off price.

            • @adrianmldn: Thank you. Do you know if can use more than 1 ultimate gift card online with good guys online? I need to use them for the purchase.

I think JB only allows 1 as it's considered a cc.

Also did you just show them a screenshot with the 10% off?

    • The Sony is vastly superior for sport and all things motion, the TCL is probably brighter for cartoons.

    • Yes, should be able to. If in person just show them the live webpage with 10% discount applied already.

  • I’ve got my fingers crossed that the X95K drops in price again!

    • Was the 85inch on sale from Sony?

      • Sorry, should’ve clarified, the 75” X95K

        • +1

Yep I got 75" x95k at last sale for $2600 delivered from Sony store. I was only going to get a 65" tv but when I saw that deal for top end non oled had to pull the trigger on the bigger size. 75/77" is perfect size for me.

I would hate dealing with 85" tvs due to the weight haha. Hard enough mounting a 75" up on the wall when it weighs 40+ kilos

          • @Savvy shopper1111: I'm tossing up between 85"

            X90L $2890
            X95K $4090

Any thoughts on whether it's worth the extra $1200? It will be the first TV I've bought, had hand-me-downs so far (I'm 27), so I'm kind of thinking of going all out and getting the better display (X95K).

            • @adrianmldn: The a80 oled or LG b3 in 77" can be found for under $4000 which would be my preference over an 85" led for similar price

Obviously depends on usage, bright room vs dark room usage etc

              • @Savvy shopper1111: It's a fairly dim room during the day, some reflections though. But viewing distance is 4.5m so I'm thinking I need 85" at least!

                • @adrianmldn: I would hold off on spending $4090 on the X95K. I think they're clearing out stock for the new model because it goes on sale for around 2.8k (and the big retailers don't stock it anymore). I'm holding hope that I catch it for around that price.

But if you're in a hurry, yesterday I found a box damaged X95K on the Sony eBay store for around 3.3k + there was a 10% (seems to be a decent deal). Unfortunately that's too out of range for me to convince the rents to buy it XD

                  • +1

@sina566: Actually, scratch that, I was talking about 75" my bad!

                    I guess size does matter….

                    • @sina566: Haha, thanks for the advice. I ended up just buying it - the 85" X95K and just had it delivered.

  • -6

Can get OLED for this price.

    • +3

This is an 85" TV - no you can't

      • -6

85 inch of garbage old tech.

        • cool man awesome

        • +2

          Username checks out

          • -4

@Megahowler: no need to be salty buying old tech thinking you are getting a 'bargain' while sony get's the $ for something they would end up selling to refurb or factory seconds…for $500 a tv.

            • +2

@FullTimeClown: I'd love to buy a referb of this for 500, please point me in the right direction.

            • @FullTimeClown: Love that you complain about old tech but dont consider that its refined tech, they have perfected FALD. Even Mini led is good but still has teething issues which will take a few years to properly overtake the FALD of the x90L

I have the x95k and whilst good for the most part is a bit too aggressive with blooming due to backlight algorithms. The x90L does an amazing job relative to number of dimming zones, better than TCL c845 that has more zones.

  • Is the 65 inch at 1800 a good purchase,or better to just go with a TCL?

    • Viewing distance?

      • 3-4m currently have a 2016 ks8000

        • Sony is better. But you might want something bigger for that distance also…

          • @adrianmldn: Missus has denied a 75 inch due to small room but long room. Thanks

    • Sony full stop, worth the extra money to not have buyers regret just in the name of saving a few bucks

  • Does anyone here know when we will see the 85" X95L?

  • Sing up and you will receive a 10% discount voucher.

I did my best rendition of bohemian rhapsody but got nothing. Is there a particular tune we need to belt out or what?

    • Doesn't seem to be working for me either…

    • +1

I signed up 5 days ago and got it after 30 min of verifying account with email link. 10% code lasts til 31/12/23 by the way.

    • doesn't work for me too.. sigh

    • it works after logging back to account.
