    just ordered thanks!!!

  • Thermo-Signal on frypans lets you know when pan is pre-heated to the right temperature

How does it know what temperature I need?

This is so you can tell when to stop pre-heating it before it gets so hot that the non-stick chemicals begin to volatilise.. that's the catch with non-stick surfaces, and why they introduced this thing. IDK if it works reliably. I once accidentally overheated a teflon pan and got the nasty "flu" symptoms from breathing it in

    “Titanium”
If this was made entirely out of titanium it would cost a few thousand dollars just for the material itself, obviously depending on grade of material used.

This is an aluminium set with a hint of titanium. The marketing is misleading IMO.

As a comparison the iPhone 15 Pro has approximately 1mm of titanium around the frame and the cost for that mass of titanium is about $50.

  • Any reviews from Ozb?

    • i would avoid the nonstick utensils. one scratch and it will bleed chemicals into your food.

You should only be using wooden and nylon utensils with non stick frypans anyway.

        • +1

That doesn't prevent the non-stick coating from scraping off over time. Non-stick will never last for long irrespective of how well you look after it

          • +1

@ninohax: I made no comment about its longevity nor did I claim it won’t deteriorate over time. Just that you shouldn’t be using any utensil that would allow for “one scratch”.

They are cheap aluminium pans that are not going to be better then any other aluminium pans. A Kmart one is probably just as good (maybe better because they have some steel in to get them to work on induction cooktop. They are still crap on induction but the steel might help reduce warping)

But heavy steel pots and pans instead.

Just buy ceramic, cast iron or steel
    This stuff is crap

Agreed, all PTFE non stick cookware is rubbish, and not good for your health, especially when used at high temperatures. Best are Carbon Steel from De Buyer and Mafter Bourgeat, which are both used in the vast majority of restaurants for their durability (can pretty much last a lifetime) and excellent heat retention (top notch for searing meats and fish). Otherwise cast iron but super heavy and less practical.

  • Suitable for all stove tops, except induction

For a second I thought I massively overpaid for Tefal bought recently from Big W in comparison to this set, then noticed these aren't suitable for induction.

    Ragret averted.
