Tried about 20 difference mice over the last 15 years.

Logitech G9X was a favourite for about 9 years …. currently enjoying the Lift at work and home (bought x2) FWIW

same here i have probably 8 mice at home ergo trackball you name it
now using lift. and for ever will be lift

How do people cope with transitioning from gaming mice to productivity mice?I've tried the Master 3s for work, but I found the sensor to be relatively bad and inaccurate compared to the gaming line (like the G Pro Wireless).

After checking the reviews on Rtings, I realised the sensor on the 3S is almost three times worse in terms of performance metrics (Delay To Start Of Movement, Delay At Half Movement, Delay To End Of Movement, etc).

My screen has a 144Hz refresh rate, and sadly, I can notice the difference in mouse accuracy the moment I switch back to my G Pro Wireless.

I've now settled with the Pro Click Mini by Razer as it's a mouse marketed for productivity but equipped with a gaming sensor.

However, I really want to be able to use either the Master or Anywhere 3s for work, otherwise.

        • +2

I'm not gaming .. just live on PC at work and home.

          • @matt-ozb: Same, I don't game, but I need an accurate productive mouse for work.

            • @beOson: I haven't noticed any issues between the accuracy of $250+ Logitech gaming mice and the Logitech Lift for productivity work

            • @beOson: it depends, if you draw something, gaming mouse worth.
word excel ppt and some typing job who cares lol

Personally I just use a 604, which functions as a good productivity / gaming hybrid. Carry one around and hotdesk everywhere using the dongle. No horizontal scroll wheel if that's what you wanted from the mx master though.

          • +1

@Ezuku: 604 is a great mouse. I changed to separate mice for gaming and work however

Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed for gaming (100hz polling rate, super precise, and I need that many buttons lol), and Logitech Triathlon for productivity. You can feel the smoothing in the drivers, while Razer is working as is, for gaming you need gaming mice.

            considering this lift for productivity..

"Pro Click Mini by Razer" … no free-spinning mouse wheel.

The Lift has a free-spin with a flick .. not completely free-spinning but still pretty nice (if not better).

      • Yep, my 20 mice includes a few trackballs too

    • The cheap Chinese clones are not bad either.

I got mine for like $30 ("Delux" brand), and it has the basic functionalities as a mouse and is vertical.

It seems to last 2 years. I"m on a 2nd one. Wired, no need to worry about changing battery, and it stays on my desktop.

  • These come in different sizes?

    • Not the Lift specifically, but Logitech has another vertical mouse that is slightly larger; The MX Vertical.

    • I don't think so. It's made to be a smaller MX Vertical that is comfortable for a wider range of hands - I.e. small to medium size.

  • +5

everyone buy this please as thank you gesture to your wrists

  • gosh i want the pink….

  • Isn't this heavy? Currently using M331…

    • +1

      very light.
you can lift it with 2 fingers :) sorry for the pun

  • +1

Any gamers tried one? Does it work well?

    • +7

I have a mx vertical and I would not recommend it for games other than maybe point n click adventures

    • No.

It's designed to be a small efficient mouse that lasts 2 years on a single AA battery. You're supposed to leave it at work and forget that it even needs charging.

It doesn't even have a port for a wired connection, so I'd rule it out for any sort of serious gaming.

I do believe it's possible to put gaming mouse hardware in a vertical mouse shell though, but no company is willing to take a risk.

Most mouse enthusiast gamers like small ambidextrous mice and aren't very willing to try something different.

      • The Lenovo Legion Go has a detachable controller that can be used as a vertical mouse, specifically for FPS games. No idea what sensor they use in it though.

    • It's not recommended but it's doable. I tried playing control and horizon zero dawn with the lift and it's doable. But anything competitive and the polling rate and sensor quality can be a problem.

Shame I don't have small little hands …anyone that's a fully grown adult confirm if these are too small or not.?

If your hand is bigger than 19cm then going by the comments, it may be a bit too small.

    • +2

      Get the mx vertical

I don’t have huge hands but I would prob get a hand cramp if this was any smaller

    • If you're a claw gripper like me, it's fine. Can't comment on other grips.

    • I have a Lift which I use when I’m in the office. I have mid to large hands but I opted for the Lift over the Vertical because the Lift has a quiet scroll wheel. I’ve had an MX Anywhere for years and love the smooth free wheel. It helped my sore arm/wrist and I enjoy using it. The buttons are basically silent too. The only trouble I have with it is lifting it when you need to move the cursor further, it needs squeezed more to pick it up as it’s kinda pyramid shaped. A classic mouse is easier to pick up. I’ve also knocked it over dozens of times when moving my hands from the keyboard to the mouse. But these are really minor.

At home I use a Kensington trackball which I’ve come to like a fair bit. I do CAD work most of the time.

      • -1

Never pickup your mouse .. either increase movement sensitivity or get a larger mouse pad. You're doing something wrong.

    • I've got medium sized hands (adult male).

I used the mx vertical as it came out first.

Tried the lift recently as my mx vertical was starting to double click after 4 years of use.

Found the lift too small and ended up returning it.

    • Thanks all. Yes can confirm my hands are well over the 19cm size limit. And mx vertical a lil too far out of my price range at the minute

  • +1

Need a deal for the left-handed version …

  • +4

same price in officeworks if it's closer to you for pickup

  • +2

If you want MX vertical, OW price matched Amazon's offer (104.88), so I was able to get it for 99.72 of Friday. Was plenty of stock

    • JB will also do and Amex have a offer to add.

  • +3

Pale grey will soon become pale yellow, never again.

    • +1

Only the rubberised part, but keep your hands clean and don't eat the jar of cheese balls at work and you'll be fine for many years.

  • How quickly does muscle memory take to efficiently control this type of mouse?

I’ve used the Apple Mouse for years and whilst I do contort my hand to hold it, my fingers know to swipe, pinch, zoom, gesture etc

I do wonder how and when Apple will choose to evolve the mouse? I love having a mini trackpad to navigate.

    • +1

The main issues are clicking, and clicking and dragging.

On a conventional mouse, you press down into your desk to press a button.

With this, you have to learn to apply a small amount of counter force (sort of like a squeezing motion) with your thumb so the mouse stays on what you're trying to click on. It takes some practice to have your thumb and click finger applying the same amount of force so you don't end up dragging the cursor slightly and cancelling out the click.

Other than that, obviously you're moving your hand back and forth to move the mouse side to side rather than hand side to side.

  • +3

I have both the MX vertical and the Lift vertical, get the Lift unless you have large hands. It's a huge improvement in clicking/scrolling/ergonomics.

    • Same, I have both too and only use the Lift these days.

      • I have both as well, I wear large size medical grade gloves for work, I find the lift is more comfortable in my hand compared to the MX vertical. I also like the lighter weight of the lift.

  • +1

Okay, I'll finally give these a go (got a couple of course, so thanks)

  • Is this specifically for Mac users? I need one for Windows. My 4 year old Mx Master has started behaving weird.

Also how is the scroll wheel? Smooth and quick?

    • White one is listed as 'for Mac' indicating that it does not include a USB receiver (Bolt) like the black and pink variants
      Get black.

      • or .. once you go pink you cant go otherway

      • The last image 8 of 8 shows a USB dongle .. so maybe it does?
        Also interested in this colour.

        • +1

get the pink/ if it doesnt say mac then its for window. dont worry all good. it can connect via BT as well. and yes scroll is good

      • Incorrect, the WHITE (for MAC) one still comes with the USB dongle, it's even shown in the pictures.

        • The reviews on the JB Hi-Fi page seem to disagree.

My MX Master 3 for Mac didn't come with one either.

          • @bio: Actually I am wrong, it's compatible with the Bolt (Dongle), but perhaps I am using mine with a bolt from another peripheral.
The WHITE (for MAC) version still definitely works with the Bolt.

            • @UltimateAI: Yes, it's exactly the same mouse. They just don't include a receiver in the package (new Macs don't have USB-A ports anyway).

              • @bio: Yeah, I only use mine at home, connected via Dell Monitor USB-C which is where I keep the dongle.
I know other people find Bluetooth fine, but I found it inconsistent \ lagging, possibly too much interference.

                • @UltimateAI: Interesting. Never had any issues with BT on both Mac and PC (Linux).

    • The white one is listed as 'for Mac'. This means it does not come with a USB receiver. You can still use it on Windows, or anything other than macOS with the bluetooth connection.

      • +1

Yes, but still works with a Receiver Bolt (if you have one from say a Logitech keyboard). shrinkflation must have removed it.

        • +1

          Indeed it does.

  • +2

Great mouse. Use it at home. The best thing for ergonomics is always to be switching things around. MX master at work and Lift at home.

  • +2

Using this right now along with the MX Keys mini, great little combo for a portable setup on the road, or if you want to save desk space.

  • No love for lefties :(

    • On Amazon

  • Just grabbed this, the scroll wheel isn't the fast one i an in habit of as in mx master. Any way to make it fast wheel?

    • Logi Options+ has an option for this. It is compatible with Lift and Lift for Mac

      https://www.logitech.com/en-au/software/logi-options-plus.ht…

    • The short answer is that I will only ever buy a free-spinning scroll wheel. The Lift meets my criteria. Let me explain …

It is the new style of scroll wheel from Logitech. It does not have a free-spinning mode like the usual Logitech mice … It has a weighted mouse wheel with clicks that are a bit smoother but, with a strong flick, can overcome the clicking and spin for a second .. the spin will slow down quite quickly

Hard to explain .. so I can see why Logitech cannot explain clearly.

  • if anyone missed out, Officeworks has them
