It's not so much that as that when there's a Philips Fidelio deal he always bags it and says "get a Hifiman instead" so was curious whether he'd be here tooting how good this is.

How can you check once you get them if they are legit? I love my sennheiser HD560's but always wanted to try a planar too. Definitely a good price!

Bought these on recommendation. If you like bass then stay clear. I can only listen to these after big EQ changes on the DAC. Remind me a lot of the old AT AD700s.

Planar magnetic normally have good bass.
i use mine with a cd player and stereo amp and the bass is fine for me without using tone controls or eq - so everybody's mileage may vary etc
