    OOS :(

    • +2

      Not yet.

      • Must be trying to post it. Have to go for a drive I guess.

      • I think what they meant is that it’s not showing for delivery for some

It isn’t for me either. It’s location specific

        Excludes:

NSW Regional, QLD Far North, QLD Regional, lSA Regional, VIC Regional, WA Regional, WA Remote

    • Out of stock for all WA stores by the looks, but can still pay $35 for delivery, this is probably the cheapest option for C3 42 even if you're paying delivery.

  • +2

This is a banger deal.. I bought a gigabyte 48” OLED 18 months ago because the C2 42” was close to $2k, 42” is a great size, and now the ~cheapest it’s ever been.

    • -2

C2 was selling for below $1000 dollars
and there is minor difference between C3 model.

do you use gigabyte 48” OLED as monitor?
that is quite large to sit up close

what are the major difference with gigabyte 48” OLED with this LG (beside TV function etc)
      e.g HDR, refresh rate etc?
Also what model is the gigabyte 48” OLED?

      • +1

I've used the CX as a 48 inch monitor for 3 years.

I've just grabbed one of these 42 inch C3's.

Size wise? It's probably too big but I've long gotten used to it.

Just saw one of the C3 deals and thought I'd snap it up.

Hoping 42 is a bit more manageable as a daily PC user :)

        • Size wise? It's probably too big but I've long gotten used to it.

you referring to the 48 or the 42?

yeah even 42 is quite huge but probably more more manageable as monitor.

          • +1

            @pinkybrain:

            1. 42 is the perfect size for me as someone whose been staring at 48 for 3 years lol

            • @Ruddaga: i think 32" monitor is probably the size that is most comfortable to use sitting at a desk (60cm to 1 m distance)

              why not wait?
C2 was selling below $1000 and there is minor difference with the C3

              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/764279

              • @pinkybrain: The same reason I waste all my money on dumb ****.

                BECAUSE I CAN.

                LOLOLOLOL

              • +1

@pinkybrain: If you don't mind waiting another 3 - 4 months, we might see a similar price on the C3. However there are a number of factors that will determine that.

      • I've also been using the c1 48" for 3 years now and no regrets. Bekant desk that is 800mm in depth and have gotten used to this. It is also great for the odd occasional media consumption whereas the 42" may be a little small for this. YMMV

BF and Cyber Monday deals even in Australia used to be somehow good for the last couple of years.

Nowadays, everything is cheaper before or after BF or stock is very limited with only a very few exceptions like this deal.

    • +2

they jack up the prices prior/during the sales nowadays..
so the discount is not as great

      • What so you mean nowadays?
They've done that since the dawn of BF time. It's (profanity) criminal

  • can this be used as pc monitor ? using a 4090 card?

    • Yes

    • Yes.

    • Yes it can

      • -1

How would it compare with alienware monitors for similar price?

        • -4

You’ll likely need dual 4090’s and only the Strix versions.

          • @The Almighty Dollar: Oh actually it has to be dual 4090 Strix EVA versions. And run the comp off a 650w psu and all good.
Not sure how a person with a 4090 would be so tech illiterate that they have to ask whether it can run a 4K TV, or how it compares to Alienware monitors at that. Do some proper research or stop trolling.

        • +2

As someone who has used an LG OLED for a few years (And currently has one with a 4090) - there's no competition. Get this.

        • +2

This is obviously bigger. It doesn't have a proper monitor stand so there are no adjustments unless you also buy a monitor arm.
It is only 120Hz compared to 175Hz (I think?)
It is a TV, so you need to jump through some hoops to get it working like a monitor (auto wake when you move the mouse etc, but it can be done).

However, it is 4K and 16:9 aspect ratio. The 34" Ultrawide is as tall as a 27" monitor.
It is WOLED and not 1st gen QD OLED.

    • +1

Beware of auto-dimming, it will auto-dim on static images, this may or may not annoy you. Also there may be issues such as it not going to sleep automatically etc. as it's a TV not a PC monitor. These are the things I'm worried about.

      • Use ColorControl… is a LG controller and fixes all your concerns

        • Will it fix text clarity? Some people say the text is blurry do to the subpixel thing

Just so everyone is aware of how the Goodguys returns can turn into a nightmare for their eBay store purchases; I bought an OLED TV (42" C2) last year from them, returned it under warranty (a line appeared across the screen), got approved for full refund (LG did this quick with minimal support from the Goodguys - basically I followed up with LG directly) so all was going well. Since LG can't issue the refund directly to the customer, now I have to get that from the good guys local branch where I picked up the TV from. It's been close to two months now, still there's no refund. My emails aren't responded to, the generic answer I get to my calls is 'your refund is processing, since it's an eBay purchase, we can't give you an update'. Basically I'm left with no update or support whatsoever, no contact details of their eBay team, and no-one knows when I'll get my money back (and yes, they wouldn't refund back into my account via local store or give me a replacement of an equal or newer model either.) Two months after the refund approval, here I am, still waiting (and also not knowing when I'll get my money whether tomorrow or next year..). Personally I would think very hard before buying from the good guys. Beware guys..

    • +4

Sounds like a terrible experience but I do wonder if any of the other big box that sell on ebay would be any better.

      • +3

Sony eBay the same. Clearly not staffed enough for proper service.

    • +7

Have you tried contacting eBay directly with all the evidence of everything? They may be able to help facilitate?

      • +3

ebay generally only handles the issue within 60 days.
After that it is paypal or whatever payment provider you used.

Also if it is related to warranty issue, they usually tell you to contact the manufacturer or the retailer.

      • +3

That's where things get rather weird. In eBay, the order is saying 'in processing' as if I haven't yet picked it up from the store. Which means I can't initiate the return process from there. I never saw that before so didn't pay much attention until return started now I am thinking whether this is also their one of cunning ways to prevent customers from initiating eBay return because you cannot initiate anything with eBay when it's 'in processing' state. I have raised the concern to eBay and I was advised to contact the seller, back to square one..

        • +2

Push eBay harder I reckon. Let them know you've been in contact with the seller and they refuse to give you a satisfactory outcome.

    • +3

tbh I'd start making a statement about ACCC and be like you'll take this matter to court given you have XYZ evidence. Give them a deadline and if nothing happens, start the process.

More often than not what I have noticed is sometimes these people dont do anything at all, the moment there is a court date they choose to be like we'll refund you now etc.

Give that a shot, I would not wait 2+ months for them to act up.

They are excellent when they are trying to make a sale, post sale they are the worst. TGG and Harvey Norman, both rubbish.

    • +2

Same with harvey norman. They'll just ignore/stop communicating when things go wrong.

    • +1

I had a similar experience with an ebay good guys purchase, completely useless support.

I raised a paypal dispute documenting how many times I had tried to contact them without success and got a refund that way.

    • I've got the option to get this direct from LG for pretty much the same price as I have a coupon. Wondering if direct from LG is a better or worse option… I thought Good Guys would be better as there's a physical store I can go to if any issues.

  • Blurry hell! Purchased on Black Friday for 1345!

    Is Bf a scam? 😟

    • +2

      Yes

    • This deal was around since Saturday possibly Friday but noone posted it

  • +3

My 42” C2 is my favourite piece of tech, absolutely love it with my PS5. This is a great deal!

    • How is the text rendering on C2? This is something I'm worried about, I'm a bit picky with my text. I've seen mixed reviews, some say it's horrible due to the OLED subpixel layout, others say it's perfectly fine after a little bit of tweaking.

      • +2

It's pretty bad. We used it for a month as a WFH setup and text was never very clear. Did all the ClearType setup via Windows and still couldn't get it working well.

Ended up moving it to the bedroom and went back to using a Samsung 32 inch curved widescreen for the home office.

        • Hmm I think this is enough of a deterrent for me to not get it. Cheers

  • Guys I have an Omnidesk Pro. Will this 42 inch TV be too big to serve as a monitor for gaming and working? Thanks for advices :3

    • Dont see an issue.

  • lol how do i get giftcards ? ive been to 5 coles and they're all sold out

    • Try more Coles. Last time I did gift cards I had to go to about 10 before I managed to get $800 worth.

Do gift cards work with this deal? Thought maybe not as they are usually for JB HiFi, do they work with Good Guys? Also do they work for eBay deals?

      • +1

eBay it's not included on that deal. Although the seller it's The Good Guys, it's through eBay. So you need eBay discounted cards.

You used to be able to get eBay discounted gift cards (6% off) on this deal. However an update on the post says you are not able to do that anymore.

        • +1

There's a workaround solution to this.

Use the 6% off coupon code to buy store credits, and then with those credits buy your desired Gift Card.

I can verify this technique works for both Amazon and Ebay as of my purchase at around 11 PM yesterday.

  • Which gift cards for eBay?

  • Would be a nice to have item but don't really need it

  • -2

I believe this is actually mispriced, according to my models we should be at 1100 this week and 1000 next week

  • OOS?

    • -1

      Not yet.

      • Showing as OOS for me now.

  • Just did a quick research C3 doesn't have much difference compare to C2 which below a thousand, most people can wait a good deal for new TV or monitor

  • If anyone wants to drive to greystanes, NSW. I have one I bought a month ago to sell if you are interested. Msg me and we can set something up. Selling it for $1200
