Yesterday, I called 3 stores looking for sub $2000 price (preferably $1800-$1900) for an LG C3 55". I quoted $1888 ApplianceGiant, $1995 VideoPro, $2030 Appliance Central as evidence that GoodGuys are not competitive at $2169.
Nope, we can't possibly go sub $2000, we can only do $2080 click collect. We only match JB HiFi (which they own) and Harvey Norman. They don't price match 'online businesses' despite the year being 2023, the listed sites being ABN registered and including free delivery (which also they wouldn't match). Now today via 10% code, $1952.1 on their own site.
Given the experience, not worth bothering. I don't understand if the kids working in the store simply aren't empowered to make decisions or just couldn't be bothered.
But if you stacked with the 15% off gift cards you get it cheaper than all those deals anyway?

Oh it get's worse: the Good Guys discount code 10% bump doesn't even work with that product as it's a "Black Friday' online sale price. What an absolute joke. They're not even price competitive if you'd stacked it.
In the end, I'm ordering it from LG direct with 20% spin win at $1839.20 and fingers crossed for Cashback rewards stack. Includes free delivery, easy.
The 15% off gift cards are like hens teeth to actually get so it's really only a hypothetical IMHO. Never been able to grab any in store, certainly not enough to cover $2000 purchase. Appreciate the sentiment though.
Fair enough. Pretty sure your spin and win wont stack with the cashback, it didn't for me earlier in the year (was 4.5% cashback at the time), but delivered to door was nice.
Worst part about TGG is the bloody 2 gift card limit online imo
Depends on your local but I find that my local JBs are much better at price matching than TGG even though they’re owned by the same umbrella
That is poor. I actually got them to price match over the phone on a TCL with ease. Didn't even ask for a link for evidence. So perhaps they are only keen to price match on items they have a bigger margin on?
