Can you confirm if this is local stock or an international model?

    • +3

      Hello Ar1299,
      These are local stock.

      • +3

So if any goes wrong with my phone, i can claim from samsung Australia?

        • +3

          Yes, you can contact them!

    • +1

Different model so not exactly relevant

    • +1

      You've linked the Flip 5.
      OP listed Fold 5.

  • Hi do you provide invoice for Gst claims?

    • Hello, yes we can provide on request

  • any deals coming for s23 ultra?

  • +2

Can this be price matched in JB?

    • +2

Found out NO with their store staff

      • +2

        damn

    • +1

No they won't. The final sale price must the quoted on the website. Jb and officeworks will decline the match because it includes a coupon code.

  • Same question here, will Green Gadgets provide GST invoice? Thanks.

  • answer about GST:

Can I get a Tax Invoice for my purchase?
Certainly. Your Tax Invoice will be emailed to you, along with your tracking number, once your order has been dispatched.
If you require a more detailed Invoice than the one provided to you, please contact our team.

They don't have Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 on their website, so it would be better to get a confirmed answer from the rep.

      • Hello John,

Yes, we sell Galaxy Z Fold 5 on our website, but at the moment the eBay price is better due to the current promotion. And yes, we can provide GST invoice on request

  • Do you have a physical store in NSW?

    • Hello Rit1234,
No, we don't. On behalf of Green Gadgets we only sell online

  • Is this model the one with a single nano-sim plus eSim or dual nano-sim plus eSim?

    • Do they have a model with dual nano sim?

      • According to GSM Arena, yes.

Not that it's going to be a deal breaker. I've put in an order with Green Gadgets anyway.

But having two nano sims will make organising data roaming for my wife's 1 month trip to China next year a bit easier. She's on Boost which doesn't support eSims and I have an Amaysim sim that I plan to swap between her phone and mine depending on who's going abroad. Worse case scenario, we can buy her roaming via Boost for $40 for two weeks (so $80 all up), she uses an old phone with my Amaysim sim or I can try a travel eSim and load that on her Fold 5 (though I won't be around to do tech support for her if the eSim has issues).

  • Code does not work.

    • That's strange. The code should still be valid today. Did you use the ebay plus members only code?

    • The first code BF20AU works. The 2nd code is for ebay plus members.

  • JB and OW have the Fold 5 discounted to $2400-ish for the 512Gb model their xmas sales. Not sure about trade in discounts but the last JB trade in discount was only $600 for Fold 5s so Green Gadgets plus ebay discount still cheaper than if JB had a $600 trade in bonus applied to the current $2399 discounted price.

I'm glad I didn't bother with those TCN gift cards since I didn't end up buying the Fold 5 from JB.

    • So did you make this purchase? Let us know your experience if you do :)

      • +1

Yeah, I bought from GG on the 28th as per above.

        Phone came today.

Just waiting for the Mrs to get home to open up the box.

  • +1

Phone arrived today! No issues with delivery. Happy days

  • +1

My order arrived today. From the packaging, it looks like it's the Samsung online store exclusive blue colour.

My wife actually wanted that one so I'll count it as a win.

    • +1

Mine arrived yesterday and its also the samsung exclusive blue. Mine is New Zealand stock however and apparently ineligible for samsung care.

      • Hmmm, NZ stock eh.

If it's ineligible for Samsung Care, is it also ineligible for warranty support claims?

        • Yeah it looks to be the case

          • @Grug7: That would be misleading then. They advised that it was local stock and that the products would be eligible for claims through Samsung Australia.

            • @Mugsy: I also asked them if the blue was the exclusive blue or icy blue and they stated it was the icy blue. Seems they have no idea

              • @Grug7: No idea or playing dumb to get a few sales out the door.

                • +1

@Mugsy: Spoke to samsung chat support. NZ devices wont be covered by warranty in Australia

                  • @Grug7: Cheers for advising. That really sucks. Foldable phones absolutely need warranty. I would have preferred to have paid the $2399 the Fold 5 is currently going for on the Samsung store, JB or OW to have warranty.

  • Got mine this week. Samsung Pay does not work because of geo-restrictions so this is NOT Australian stock.

    • Any guesses what other limitations will there be?

Google Pay too? Different Play store with no access to Aussie banking apps?

  • For those wanting a Fold 5 with Samsung Australia's warranty, Samsung currently has their Fold 5s with $400 off. And you can get a 15% off voucher from their loyalty retention program bringing the price down to a bit over $2k. The $400 off ends on the 13th Dec.

I'm in the process of returning/refunding the Fold 5 from the GGA deal. Just working through the ebay process/wait times. Had to confirm that GGA's stock is not Aussie stock by contacting Samsung (I suggest online chat), providing the phone's serial number (or what ever else they need), have them confirm the stock origin and lack of manufacturer's warranty and save the transcript for dealing with GGA and ebay afterwards. For me, GGA kept claiming that there was manufacturer's warranty up until the point I provided them the time stamped chat transcript advising there was none.

Also, note that the international warranty policy expired in late 2017 so if GGA claims there is international warranty from Samsung, this won't be true.

My Samsung rep felt sorry for me I guess and offered a 15% off voucher. Two days later I was declined the voucher (advised by email) but I emailed the Samsung loyalty program about it, gave them my sob story, and they sent the discount code immediately. The code does NOT stack with 10% first time purchase app purchase discount (so make the purchase on the webstore on your PC and save that 10% for another time).

I got a follow up 15% off coupon for Fold 5 accessories but for cases, I suggest not getting the official fold 5 case from Samsung as it does not cover the hinge. Had an OW staff who was also a Fold 5 user advise to get a case that covers the hinge as if your hinge is scratched up, you will have issues when dealing with Samsung warranty claims (they won't refuse you but there's some sort of cost you will need to pay).

(As an aside, my wife took the news about the international stock quite well and worked with me with getting the phone ready for return in an undamaged condition… we took photos to validate lack of damage in the packing up process. I am more than happy to pay the extra $300-ish dollars at Samsung's store to get my love another Fold 5 with manufacturer's warranty.)

    • Quick update on the return process.

Green Gadgets final stance was that they will offer 24 months warranty themselves which I wasn't happy with. Their initial email indicated that I would be responsible for postage back to them and also would be slugged a 20% restock fee as the packaging is opened.

This didn't sit right with me as it was their incorrect advertising in the first place that cause this mess. I contacted GGA again asking if they'd bear the return costs and waive the restock fee. Got no reply… so I initiated the ebay return item processing.

I've confirmed with ebay via chat that GGA will bear the full return postage costs and also is required to give a full refund. The return postage label and package has arrived.

I am going to take a final set of photos of everything and the phone from all angles as I pack it away.

      • HI Mugsy,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and experience with the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 you had purchased from our eBay Store.

As these devices are Brand New never used and have not been activated previously, they should be covered by Samsung's Manufacturer's Warranty as we can see the Warranty period is still Active. Our team can provide you with a Tax Invoice with the IMEI of your device clearly stated for Warranty purposes, if required.

We're sorry to hear you were having difficulties trying to sort this out with Samsung and get further information, but rest assured, if Samsung is not willing to cover the Warranty and as you have been advised by our team, we can certainly assist you with any Claims under our Warranty.

Our apologies if you did not receive a response from our team regarding your request for return and we're glad you were able to initiate a return through your Order.
If you have posted back your device, please let our team know so we may keep an eye out for your return and provide you with updates as best we can.

If you have any questions or require any information from us, please do not hesitate to contact us on 1300 981 361 Monday-Friday 9am-5pm AEDT, or you can message us any time through your eBay messages.

        Kind regards,
        Green Gadgets
