Elgato Facecam, not quite an historic low but an excellent price nevertheless, and beats most other current Black Friday sales elsewhere. Just did a price-match at JB for this one.

Elgato Prime Lens- f/2.4 24 mm all-glass studio quality optics
Sony STARVIS CMOS Sensor- optimised for indoor use
Advanced Image Engine- uncompressed video without artifacts
True Full HD- stunning 1080p resolution at a fluid sixty frames per second
High-Speed Circuitry- USB 3.0 interface transfers image data with lowest latency

Great camera. Be aware, it does not have a built-in microphone.

So Windows won't accidentally switch to the crappy webcam mic.

  • What's the resolution?

    • +1

Per Op: "True Full HD- stunning 1080p resolution at a fluid sixty frames per second"

    • Says in the item description - 1080p/60fps

      • Thank you. Anyone with experience using it? Ease of use? CPU usage?

        • Easy-ish to use… the auto brightness & white balance isn't always perfect. If you're always using it in the same place with the same lighting, it's close to set-and-forget.
CPU use is fine, but I should note you can't just use any USB-C cable with it, it must be USB3 rated which not all are.

          • @mingofmongo: Should add, you must be able to install the Elgato software to get the most out of this. If you're on a locked-down corporate Windows device, you might want to skip.

I bought the Facecam to replace the Logitech Brio.

    Reasons:
    - Logitech software sucks on the Mac. Keeps crashing and doesn't attain the settings unless the software is running
    - Much better quality in low light condition compared to Brio
    - Brio's 4K is unnecessary, Facecam's quality and frame rate are more important to me

    YMMV

  • I feel like the Razor Kiyo Pro is better, but the software is not desirable

    • thanks, curious to know kiyo pro is better in what way?

Same sensor, cheaper, more colour accurate out of the box, has a low light feature, but doesn't have the same configurability.

I ordered an Elgato Facecam for $168 from their website on the 27th and at the time of ordering, the product was in stock (looks like this is still reporting in stock?)

I received emails saying the product was on back order, no ETA given.

I called the phone number that was supplied in the email only to hear a recording that the phone number was unattended and to use their live chat support.

When I got to their live chat support, they told me it would take 24-48 hours to get an ETA.

When pressed if it was 24-48 hours or 1-2 business days (considering it is Friday today), they confirmed 1-2 business days.

I had enough at this point and asked for my order to be cancelled.

On top of that, my refund request will take 1-3 business days to action and then 2-5 business days for my funds to be returned!

So they post a Black Friday sale on a product they don't even have in stock, then don't give an ETA unless requested, take a couple of business days to give that ETA and then a business week to refund you!

This has got to be an illegal practice! Beware!

  • Update to my earlier comment.

    There is NO stock nationwide!

I got a callback from the online team and they advised no stock, no eta. They had no product to sell on sale price.

    • That sucks. Maybe you can try what I did and price match one at JB Hifi.
