LG 65" QNED81 4K UHD LED Smart TV (2023) $1457 + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

40

Mid range LG TV - mostly if you need a center stand TV. Seems to have better reviews on viewing angle than a lot of the others in the price range.

I don't think any other 'specs' really matter?
- ThinQ AI & webOS
- 4K 120Hz, ALLM & eARC

  • why not qned86 with mini led dimming instead of 4k lcd panel only:)

    • Different price point

    • +1

LG do not want to compete with their own OLED TV's

If they improved the QNED85 which already had IPS + Mini LED + LG Alpha processor, they could easily crush the TCL C845

But LG wants to play premium and leave the value mid-tier to TCL and Hisense

  • Not a great TV if you want your blacks to actually look black: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/qned80-2023

    • +1

      Yes terrible blacks

The QNED81 needs to be cheaper than the C845 to even be worth looking at

      • Generally the Chinese brands, especially state owned ones, will always beat out other companies. A part of it is definitely caring about the company/govt you're giving money to.

  • Better angles? IPS panel vs VA? Poor contrast comment above seems to suggest its an IPS.

VA for best contrast / IPS for side angles.
