They suspended my account with 9,000 YUMS without providing any valid reason. NCAT case will be lodged soon.

    • I assume you have contacted The Fork. What did they say?

      • +1

They sent me this email. I asked them to tell me exactly what happened but they didn't send anything further. If you search on Google, there are other people having the same problem. Their loyalty system is BS.

We inform you that we have found that you have made improper use of our booking service, to accumulate loyalty points in your account.

In section 5 of our terms of use, which you can view at https://www.thefork.com/legal, we declare the following: «[Furthermore, failure by Users to comply with these Terms of Use (including failure to honour several reservations (no-shows), any abuse or fraudulent use of TheFork Site and/or Yums, or any behaviour prejudicial to the interests of La Fourchette may result in the deactivation of the User's account and/or the immediate deletion of all or part of the Yums stored in the loyalty space of the User's account on TheFork Site, without prior notice or compensation.]

Therefore, and in accordance with article 4.7 of Title 1 of our Terms of Use The Fork, we inform you that we have deactivated your TheFork account.

          did ya do anything fishy?

@Willyslicks: Nothing, nada. But I would only book restaurants when there were bonus points like this. It looks like they were not happy though.

        • It’s not easy to fight the French bro :)

I've found their customer service to be inept since the takeover. There is an Australian phone number floating around as I used that to call them. I believe even the Australian office had to wait for the offshore team to get involved though. Was a painful experience

        • That's concerning. I only ever use this for 1000pt etc plus the occasional discount. I've got 18000pts ATM so not keen on losing that!

    • Yikes, I have 4000 points expiring on 30 Nov… made 2 bookings already. Hope all goes well!

Did you ever use a referral code from Ozbargain? There was a previous thread here suggesting this is why their account was suspended: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/754672

I'm not too sure how I signed up to their system, but they are dodgy af

I usually book a double yums place with the 1000 code to receive 2000 yums.

    • Does that work with this offer?

      • Yes

      • I do it on a regular basis. Just find a cheap restaurant (that you like) to do it in. EG TGI Fridays in Melbourne Central is one example.

Thanks OP. I have a ton of Yums and was thinking what will I do with them, having tried most of the convenient places here that accept them. But I'm going to Italy next year and was surprised to find that the program is more widely available in Europe… what's more, 2000 Yums gets you 50 Euros credit :)

It was amazing how many nice restaurants there were to gain and spend yums at in Europe. Spain & Italy had 2000 yums = 50 Euros, whereas other europe countries were only 25 Euros… we got so much for the 50Euro (2 mains, 2 desserts and bottle of house wine usually!) Enjoy :D

  • Thanks for posting this deal! Made a booking so appreciate it.

  • Please note that the code is RESTO and then the NUMBERS 23.
