1,500 Bonus Points When You Buy an Iced Coffee on 2 Separate Occasions @ McDonald's (App Required)

250

Might be targeted. A good deal if you want to go sit and do some work at maccas. My local has split the dinning area into two sections, there is now a quiet area.

An Iced Coffee costs 2,500 points to redeem, the highest value coffee in there costs $7.05. The 1,500 points is then worth about $4. I also have a 750 points booster for spending more than $7.50 in an order, as well as the $1 frozen drink offer.

An Iced Latte costs $4.80. Iced Chocolate is cheaper at $4.60 but it might be too sweet. I’ll probably stick to my Iced Long Black for $4.80.

Has anyone found their bonus points hit and miss when it comes to actually getting them? I had a 1000 point bonus for $5+ spend and didnt get the bonus points and it wasnt the first time. Sent them a message this time so we'll see if they honour it.

    • Silly question - did you unlock it? I've found it doesn't need to be applied to an order, but does need to be unlocked.

      • +2

I did that and they say that you can’t use two offers at the same time. This is when you can use the offer to order Big Mac meal for 6.95.

I hit them back saying that nowhere in the terms say that two different types of offers (one meal deal and one points deal) at the same time. They finally honoured it but you yeah you will have to spend some effort.

        • Definitely not the case as I have redeemed an offer to reach minimum spend before and I got the points. But more recently, the minimum spend bonus points aren't coming through so I've had to email them. They eventually got back to me and honoured it

      • Yes it was unlocked and I just bought a happy meal

    • +1

yeah it has been pretty random, some really cheap deals dont seem to work with the bonus points and others do.

    • Does anyone know what the best way to contact them about missing points is? Filled out a contact form and it said they would get back to me in 10-12 business days 🙄

  • I also have 650 points for 2 or more Sundaes in one order, and 1500 points for a McRib/McRib deluxe in 2 orders

    • McRib is back!

      • Wow!!

      • Yeah bloke that's why it's in my bonus deals, username checks out.

I kid, but in all seriousness, I tried the deluxe today and was probably the best Maccas burger I've had (bar's not that high, but still..)

  • meh I have like 15k of points that i never use lol.

    • +1

      …use them?

      • i would if I remember to do so lol.

    • They'll eventually expire

    • +1

Use them for coffees. They expire after a year

    • -1

I have over 35K in points and rarely redeem them. I never drink Macca's coffee.. it's bloody revolting and rubbish 🤮‼️ None of my points have never expired, otherwise I would be informed. I only got informed once when my points got to around 38-39k points. Never got any T&C's to mention that my points will never expire. I've only ever redeemed 4 or 5 large fries in the last 3-4 yrs, since the BS Macca's pts promo have been around. I'd be lucky to have Macca's 4 times a yr, and that's if I get a decent meal in a daily deal. Rather eat at Hungry Jack's for a Whopper with Cheese, and even with that I don't even eat. Give me a Banh Mi salad roll anyday or rice noodle dish, or a pre-packaged sandwich from 7-11 - that has at least 2-3 days b4 the expiry date, because I know that's when they're fresh.

      • i think you will find most people cover coffee in sugar that you can't taste a good coffee even when its given to them. most people know nothing about good coffee, and most people wouldn't know a train was up them till the people got out.

i see where you're coming from though I know what good coffee tastes like and i love a good light roast when done right. But you can't expect the rest of the population to understand what a good coffee tastes like. They see free coffees they get it no matter how bad the taste, but they will still put their sugar in it….. lovers of coffee won't put sugar in any shot of coffee in fact if i ever did that it means the coffee is terrible.

        • +1

Well, I don't have sugar in coffee and/or tea. I haven't had sugar in them since the mid-1990s, when I started highschool. I want to taste of what I drink. I only have sugar in iced coffee (the ones I make - that I have!) or iced tea. So you're not just telling me, but also the others here that you'll just take a free coffee or tea - doesn't matter of how bad it is, you'll still take it from the points?… Like I said, I only use the points to claim large fries. I'm not a 'tasteless' connoisseur of coffee and tea like u might be, and may sound like. You can have your International Roast or Brazilian or Starbucks that u may take.

          PS. Btw, I'm a dark-roast of a person. That's why I don't drink light-roasts. I know that I have taste.

      • +2

How did you rake up so many points if you say you rarely eat at Macca's? (genuinely curious)

        • +3

By eating more than they claim?

          • @BartholemewH: I've had purchases where they've had the promo for the mth of your B'day, where they give u many bonus points. My B'day is in June, so I think that I must've claimed around bonus 10,000 pts all up, on certain products, especially when the kids were with my missus and myself. I've got 25,000 pts now in my account, as I've claimed 2 large fries, an apple pie, and even a coffee after a few yrs, to see of what it was like again. Bloody absolutely rubbish that coffee is…bloody pewk 🤮‼️

        • If u eat alot of maccas its easy to rack up that much

        • Yeah 35k points is $350 spend (excluding bonuses) thats a lot to spend when going 3 to 4 times a year

          • @Rain Cloud: Well, I'll repost of what I originally said here, but has been deleted. (Thanks mod!.. Nothing wrong about bragging or gloating from such Drama Queens!). Had to get those family value meals for the kids and with their friends coming from sports carnivals and team sport things on Saturdays. (At least their parents fixed us up.) It worked out to be cheaper that way too, and got bonus points offers on those too. It's the only thing that kids will eat these days, is rubbish McDonald's being such processed crap.

PS. If I've offended anyone here, I know that u have taken to it seriously. But at least Im stating fact‼️

      • +1

They definitely expire man. Check through your points history and I am certain you'll see some have expired. Maccas don't send you an email to let you know they're expiring and their T&Cs do state they expire after 12 months, see here. I'm happy to take your points off your hands if you don't want them though 😂

        • Nah, sorry. I've checked the history of my purchases as well. Maybe I'm one of the very few that it hasn't happened for such. When I phoned McDonalds/Creata BS Promotions yesterday they told me that the points aren't transferrable. So I don't know of what they tell u.

          • @INDYVADER: Strange that yours haven't been expiring as I had some expire last month. You should give your account details to a friend or family member so they can use those points up though

            • @nicholasv: I can only be there to give them the points on offer. No way that I won't give them my details, as one of my cards is on that to obtain points. I don't save my CC or Debit details on large purchasing business apps.

        • First time going to McDonald's yesterday since August to try a McRib (Deluxe) in a meal. Bloody rubbish, as well as that very smokey BS BBQ sauce. 🤮 And showed for the first time to buy thru app that I have 168 pts about to expire. Must've been to do with the softserve cones I bought at the time. I swear that I had never been informed of pts as such, about to expire. Maybe someone had tried to put me in for such. I also claimed on amother large fries as well (5,000 pts). So now I have just under 30,500 pts. Howzat for a BRAG‼️ 🤡 Bloody TROLLS‼️

  • lol i bought a mcrib meal with iced coffee today, but forgot to enable to bonus for mcrib and coffee rip

but then again i forget to redeem points so a lot of mine i've collected end up expiring lol

    • Rip. Now you have a reason to go back two more times lol

      • yep, i quite enjoyed the mcrib actually, sometimes you just want a messy but comfy low quality burger that gets the job done (particularly the 'complete' deluxe version)

        • That McRib is actually terrible. Especially with that very smokey & sweet sauce 🤮 . I first tried it here in Oz as a teenager around 1993/94 when it was first released (it was first released in the US around 1981 or 82 - when I looked it up‼️), and also offered the Indiana Jones video promo thru Maccas $5 each movie (of the 3 that were made at the time), which could only be bought with any Extra value meal. Does anyone remember that promo⁉️

  • Anyone know if there's an expiry on these points or a maximum number you can accumulate?

    • It's always mentioned 30k.. only around $30 worth to bank. But I have between 35-36k points. I'd be lucky to go to Macca's 4 times a year. The only things that I've ever redeemed in the last 3 yrs since it's been around, are the large fries. And that's around 5k each. So I've done that around 4 or 5 times.

    • +1

      One year.

      • Thanks, but none of my points in purchases have expired on me. And no, (just incase your bring up some more BS), I don't work for McDonald's. Wouldn't in a million yrs. Even if I was unemployed, I wouldn't. Wouldn't work for any fastfood chain. I was 'poached' to work for them a few yrs back, at their HQ in Thornleigh, Sydney's north - offered me over $150K annual salary (won't say exactly), but declined the offer. (I used to know one of the honchos there, as I worked with them at another co about 5 yrs ago.) As they only offered me $10K more of what I was earning then. I was also offered free meals on my lunch breaks from the office, and dinner to take home for the family. But both myself and the missus are against fastfood for the kids.

  • Maccas are too expensive. I remember we can buy an entire meal (burger + chips + drink) for under $5.

    • -3

Nobody cares boomer. Use your seniors card to get a free small coffee next time you're there.

      • +1

You care enough to respond champ.

        • 🤣🤣🤣🤣.. Bloody stooges‼️🤡🤡🤡

    • Yeh, I remember that one with the McOz burger deal around 10 yrs ago. But was with small chips & drink. @ $5.

  • Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that their Iced Coffee is just poured from 2L ice-break branded or similar carton.

Happened last time I ordered one (over a year ago so maybe changed).

Their iced latte, is genuine / real coffee + milk made in the spot.

    • The iced latte is amazing. I replace the sugar with honey and add an extra shot for large. I choose oat milk and I've never been given bottled iced coffee.

    • They are supposed to be freshly made, since it’s part of the McCafé menu, especially in Melbourne. I haven’t had them though.

  • Iced Coffee costs 2,500 points

Not seeing that as an option.
Next best is the iced latte, not sure if that qualifies for the bonus

    • Click on the deal image, it helps :)

    • Think they’re talking about the iced latte which is so yummy.

      • Was more interested in the iced coffee for 2500 points 🤣… since they killed coffee frappe redemption.

Agree on the iced latte though👍

        • Their coffee is absolutely terrible. Nearly as bad as International Roast. Wouldn't have it in anything.

  • Does anybody know if I order an iced chocolate it will be deemed as an iced coffee purchase? Just curious.

    • Yes, if you look at the promo picture, it has iced latte on it. They could have been more clear if they said iced drinks instead of iced coffee. That said, I haven’t tried it myself.

  • +1

Had the deal unlocked, got a free iced latte for 2500 points last night and it didn’t count it towards the reward 😭

    • Same

    • +1

I think the promo is to get you to spend money, not points…

      • Of course it is‼️… That's why they created the feature. Thankgod I only eat Maccas no more than 4 times a yr. It's absolute shite. I only eat it, if I'm at the airport (I travel alot in my job!), or if I'm hungry late at night being out and there's nothing around open.

        • It’s not that bad if you just ordered coffee (and provided you do not care too deeply about coffee…). I used to spend a bit of time in my local maccas when I lived 2 minutes walking distance from it, I would sit upstairs and do some people-watching. Now it’s a five-minute drive near a Woolies, I just can’t be bothered to navigate the narrow car park.

    • Unfortunately, points aren't earnt on points redeemed. Only on paid purchases

Think OP put that in to give an idea of what could be redeemed with (1000) more than 1500pts earnt in this Deal.
To stop confusion, replaced with 1,500 points is then worth about $4.

  • Still waiting for my bonus points (1000 points on $5+ spend, twice) since contacting them 2Dec and got a reply asking for receipts a week ago (replied straight away) and no response after that yet. Not going to do any of the min spend bonus points offers anymore, chasing them up is a PITA

Sorry about your experience. Hope they get back to you eventually.
